Hi Mark, I just ran a full year a Mammotion mini AWD 800 without too much problems, on 4G ( also wifi is perfect in the not so big garden)
My question is more security wise, would it be helping, to also install the RTK antenna, just in case 4G of wifi has a DC wouldf the RTK antenna take over till the rest is reconnected, of is there a misunderstanding from my part?
I have no problem installing that antenna, if it would be benificial for dropouts from the rest, especially as we are sometimes away for a longer time?
Thank you
Best regards FRank ( Belgium)

Hi Mark, thank you for the quick answer, but here is a what if question, l understand you are saying that the RTK antenna is the mist reliable, but in case it gets turned off, you say the mammotion will not switch over to 4g or wifi. I once let the mini run over wifi only, that worked to some part, but it sometimes did some strange things too. My garden has no obstructions and straight lines, no big trees or bushes it has to avoid. I did one test with the rtk antenna temporarily fixed to a wall, and it gave me a good and 35 sattelites, hope that will be enough sat's connected to. So my hope is more or less vanished after your answer..that in case l have all 3 installed( wifi, 4g,rtk) l will only function on one of the 3 , ( best rtk) and will not switch to another if rtk signal drops. Bummer hope the 2025 mini could have handled it. Frank

Yes, Frank, in my opinion you should install the physical RTK antenna and manually switch the setting in the app.

      Here is the short answer:

Manual Selection: Since the Luba does not automatically switch between "Network RTK" (4G/Wi-Fi) and the "RTK Base Station," you must choose the most reliable one before you leave. At least I believe it didn't but will confirm this when I put my Luba back out, hopefully in the next few weeks.

The "Secure" Choice: Set it to "RTK Base Station." This uses a direct radio link (LoRa) between the antenna and the mower. It is 100% independent of your 4G, Wi-Fi, or the Mammotion servers.

Why it's better for travel: If you stay on "Network RTK" and your internet or 4G drops, the mower will stop. If you use the physical antenna, the mower will keep mowing perfectly even if your entire home internet goes offline.

Camera Backup: The camera is a great "bridge" for weak spots, but it cannot replace a lost RTK connection for long. A physical antenna ensures that the "fix" is never lost in the first place.

Conclusion: Install the antenna and set the app to "RTK Base Station" for the most "bulletproof" setup while you are away.

      Thanks
      Mark

Hi Frank, I don't have my mower out at the moment, but will be doing it soon. I will have a test and report back here. It's true, this may have changed with recent app/firmware updates, but I can remember having to switch manually between NetRTK and the RTK station.
