Can a robot mower deal with Magnolia Grandiflora leaves?

Hello

I have a 70 sq m lawn. It is almost square, flat and has an 8 inch path around the edge. I am looking for a robot mower for this. Unfortunately we have magnolia grandiflora trees at the end of our garden that shed large hard leaves. Can a robot mower cut up these leaves? If a robot mower is not suitable, what mower would you suggest – preferably one that can deal with these leaves! Thank you

You can adjust the obstacle sensitivity on most robot mowers to either avoid the leaves or attempt to cut over them. However, the best solution is unfortunately to keep the lawn clear of large debris.

Robot mower blades are essentially razor blades; they are designed to cut grass and will blunt relatively easily if they are constantly hitting hard objects like Magnolia leaves. If you cannot keep the lawn clear, you may find yourself replacing blades very frequently to maintain a good cut. Mark
