What’s the best fuel for my petrol lawnmower?
| ♥ 0 | I’ve noted fuel other than that from the petrol station being available and recommended by my local garden machinery stockists. Fuel such as Aspen 4. Is it worth paying a premium for this fuel or should I keep on filling up my Jerry can? Love reading your content, you’ve helped me choose a new mower just this week. I’ve taken a gamble and ditched the idea of a Hayter Harrier 41 ES and instead saved a small fortune and gone for a Hyundai 480SPER. Hoping it’s a great bit of kit! cheers, James. Aspen 4 (and similar alkylate fuels) do cost more, but they burn cleaner, store far longer without going stale, and are much gentler on engines and carburettors—so they can save hassle in the long run, especially if you don’t use the mower every week. If you’re mowing regularly and happy to manage fresh petrol in a jerry can, standard fuel is fine. If you want convenience and less maintenance, the premium fuel is worth considering.
