avoiding objects on lawn

avoiding objects on lawn

0

Hello
My lawn is about 700m2 and level but has two apple trees on it and two dogs. I am keen to get a robot lawn mower but concerned about how it would deal with any dog poos which I haven’t managed to pick up, and with any apples.
Do you have any recommendations as to which are the best at avoiding objects which aren’t in the same place each time?
Very helpful website, thank you!

Best wishes
Caroline

Hi Caroline,

Whether a robot mower avoids dog poo depends on the size of the mess and your obstacle avoidance settings. On high sensitivity, most modern mowers with vision systems should detect medium-sized dog poo. However, I have a Maltese dog, and the mower doesn't detect her poo as it's simply too small.

For the apples and dog mess, you'll definitely want a mower with advanced AI camera-based obstacle avoidance to handle things that aren't in the same place every day.
