Boundary Wire Free and ‘true’ cut to edge
| ♥ 0 | Hi Mark Great site, thank you. I’ve got a fairly small (around 300-odd s/m) perfectly rectagular lawn with the only rigid object being an 8’x6′ shed. I currently own from new a now fairly-aged robot mower (Landxcape – LX790i) which still works brilliantly and he shall forever hold a pantheon in my shed, but it’s time for an upgrade. My rectangle is bordered on all sides either by brick wall or fencing with the lawn going directly up against those barriers. I have no overhanging trees or similar in the garden, so RTK shouldn’t be a problem usually, but LiDAR and AI Vision seem to be just as compelling. Ideally I’d like a mower that can be left to its own devices (like the Landxcape) but does not required the tiresome perimeter wire and has a ‘proper’ cut to edge facility so I don’t need to manually strim. I’ve had a look at the Ecovacs Goat O1200 LiDAR PRO, which has the physical line strimmer attached to it (which I like) but fear it may be overkill for what I need – albeit that I really do like it and its concept. The other is WORX Landroid Vision Cloud WR303E, which is pobably more like it but I’d have to purchase the cut to edge module separately (if you can find one) and, even then, I’m unconviced that it’ll be as good as the Goat. There are bound to be other options and manufacturers that I’ve missed but wonder if you’d be so good as to point me in the right direction? ANSWERED Marked as spam Add comment |
| Private answer Thank you for the kind words! I haven't personally tested the Ecovacs Goat yet, so I can't really comment on its performance. It is worth noting that there will almost always be a small amount of trimming to do with any robot mower if the device cannot physically straddle the edge of the lawn. Regarding the Worx "cut to 0" module, it is not currently available, but I have been told it should be released later this year. Have you looked at the LUBA Mini 2? While it is a little overkill for 300sqm, it does feature a separate edge cutting blade. I have just finished a video of both the NetRTK version and the LiDAR version which you can see here- https://youtu.be/C6qH0mc4sWc?si=l5x-IPV_amL4VrGn Link to my web review with links to purchase here- https://easylawnmowing.co.uk/luba-mini-2-awd-lidar/ Mark Marked as spam |
