Detail about the Mammotion Yuki Mini 700 robot lawn mower

I would like to buy the above mower. The problem I have is the mower’s ability to mow up to the edge of the lawn. The cutter is located in the centre of the chassis, so there must be a gap from the edge of the cutter blade and the outside edge of the chassis which remains uncut. Mammotion assures me that it cuts to within 50mm of the edge. With your experience, is this in fact true?

Hi Robert,

You're correct that the YUKA Mini's blade is centrally located, so there will always be a small uncut strip between the blade edge and the mower's outer edge. Mammotion claims a 50mm (5cm) edge distance, meaning the mower will leave about a 5cm strip uncut along borders.

In practice, this claim is generally accurate for flat, straight edges without obstacles and if you have a level boundary, say with the patio, then no grass is left uncut as you would map over the boundary . However, in real-world use (especially with irregular or raised borders, or if the perimeter wire isn't perfectly placed), the uncut strip can sometimes be a bit wider—up to 6-7cm in some cases.

If you want a perfectly trimmed edge, you’ll likely still need to use a grass trimmer occasionally. This edge performance is typical for most robotic mowers with centrally mounted blades.

Thanks
