LUBA Mini 2 awd 1500 – would it work under thick canopy of trees?
| ♥ 0 | Hi, I have two small lawn areas with a path between them, but both are under a canopy of large trees. It’s about 1000m2 altogehter. Only partial light can get in. I purchased a Segway Navimow with cameras and Lidar but it didn’t preform too good. Although it’s cutting the area, the lines are not straight and therefore it misses a lot of the grass. Segway have looked at how it’s preforming and have offered me a refund. My local dealer does not want to offer me any more of his robots as he only works with Kress and Segway. He thinks is the Segway didn’t work then nothing will. That’s why I’m interested to hear what you think about the LUBA Mini 2 1500 AWD. | Private answer If the Navimow is already struggling, then in all honesty the Luba Mini 2 is likely to struggle as well—they use very similar positioning approaches overall, even with the added sensors. I am a bit surprised though, as I’ve seen Navimow work very nicely on a neighbour’s lawn with quite a lot of tree coverage, so it’s not always a deal‑breaker. That suggests your specific site (layout, density of canopy, signal blockage around the path/house) is probably the real issue. The Luba might behave slightly differently, but I wouldn’t expect it to suddenly solve the problem.
