Luka Mini

Luka Mini

Mark, thank you for your excellent reviews and information. I am so happy to have found your Youtube videos and website. I have been considering the Stiga A4 but it has drawbacks which the Luka Mini appears to overcome.

The remaining questions I have relate to whether the Luka can navigate a lawn area that is less than 1m wide to access a slightly larger lawn area. My lawn has no straight lines and is shaped around borders and beds.

I want to use the robot mower for my main 200sq m lawn. But I have grass in front of the house, another 200sq m, alongside a track. Would I be able to designate this as a “closed area”, as the Stiga does, and transport the robot manually to it when I want to cut this area? Due to gates and security reasons i am not able to have this area as a zone to be mowed automatically.

I don’t know if the Luka mini cuts as well as Stiga claim theirs does, but the inavi and the features highlighted in your review make this an attractive option.

Thank you,
Les Gordon

Thank you so much for your kind words about my reviews and videos—I'm really glad they’ve been helpful!

Yes, you can move the LUBA Mini AWD manually between lawn areas. When you lift the mower, it will automatically lock itself for security reasons, so you’ll just need to unlock it again (via the keypad - GRASS/HOME then START button) when you place it in the new area.

Regarding your specific lawn setup:

The LUBA Mini AWD is quite adept at navigating narrow passages, but a width of less than 1 meter is right at the limit. In practice, it can handle passages as narrow as about 80 cm, but the edges may not be as perfectly cut, especially if the path curves or is irregular. For best results, keep the narrowest point as wide and straight as possible.

For your second lawn area (the 200 m² in front of the house), you can absolutely designate this as a separate “closed area.” The LUBA system lets you map out multiple mowing zones or areas in the app. Since you can’t have the mower travel there autonomously due to gates and security, you can simply carry or wheel the LUBA Mini to the second area when needed. Once placed, select the appropriate zone in the app, and it will mow just that area as mapped.

This works very similarly to the “closed area” feature on the Stiga, but with the added flexibility of LUBA’s app and RTK boundary mapping.
In terms of mowing quality, the LUBA Mini’s cut is very good and comparable to other leading robotic mowers, especially given its AWD capability and intelligent navigation. The iNavi system does a great job of efficiently covering irregular and complex lawns.
