Navimow L210e lidar pro or Luba mini 2 awd 1500 lidar
| ♥ 0 | Hi, I’m trying to decide between the Navimow i210E LiDAR Pro and the Mammotion LUBA Mini 2 AWD 1500 LiDAR. My lawn is about 800 m² and the garden is not particularly challenging apart from a few slopes of around 40%. I believe both models would have enough traction and climbing ability for my property, so traction is probably not the deciding factor. The mower will be used at my summer cottage, which means reliability is very important to me. I would prefer the mower that is least likely to get stuck, lose its position, require manual intervention, or suffer from unexpected downtime. What I’m most interested in is navigation performance and positioning accuracy. Which mower do you think has the better overall navigation system and LiDAR implementation in real-world conditions? Another important factor is that I have poor cellular (4G) coverage and no reliable Wi-Fi in parts of the garden. In those conditions, which mower would you trust more to maintain accurate positioning and reliable operation? If you had to choose one of the two for an 800 m² lawn with moderate slopes, poor connectivity, and a requirement for maximum reliability with minimal downtime, which would you pick and why? | Private answer Hi Joakim, That is a great question, especially considering the mower will be at a summer cottage where reliability is paramount. In terms of connectivity and reliability, I have had some frustrating experiences with the LUBA Mini over the years where I’ve lost connection while away on holiday. In those cases, it required manual intervention—physically removing it and returning it to the charging station—which is the last thing you want at a remote property. While it is still early days, I have not had this issue with the Navimow so far. The lack of Wi-Fi and 4G at your cottage is a concern. Without connectivity, you won't receive alerts if the mower gets stuck, and you may have issues with scheduled starts. You really need a connection at least at the charging station area. I personally used a TP-Link external access point to push Wi-Fi out across my lawn, which might be a good solution for you. Regarding navigation, both mowers perform very well while mowing thanks to their LiDAR systems. However, keep in mind that LiDAR works best when there are obstacles (trees, walls, etc.) to use as reference points. I have seen LiDAR-only mowers get "lost" in very large, open fields. If your lawn has some features for the sensors to "see," both should be very accurate. Given your need for maximum reliability and minimal downtime while you are away, the Navimow is currently leaning ahead in my testing for staying connected, though the LUBA’s AWD is superior for traction on those 40% slopes.
