Ongoing maintenance of robotic mowers

0

I currently have a McCulloch ROB S400 robotic mower, which is great, BUT: I find that the 3 rotating blades become jammed over time with bits of grass and dried sap. Once a week I unscrew the blades and clean them and the surrounding area, and that takes time and is a bit of a nuisance. My daughter owns a more expensive Husqvana robotic mower – it has a stainless steel plate underneath that protects the blades from this problem. What I hadn’t realised at the time of purchase was that, not only does Husqvana own McCulloch, it also owns Gardena and Flymo, and they all share common parts and probably operating systems. I am about to relocate to a smaller house and garden and will be buying a new robotic mower. I have watched your video review of the Lawnmster 10, which is a lot cheaper than the smallest Husqvana model: does it suffer from the same type of problem and how does it cope without a central guide wire?

Yes, it may suffer from the same issue and will need to be cleaned periodically. Robotic mowers, including the Lawnmster 10, often have blades that can become jammed with bits of grass and dried sap over time. Regular maintenance, such as unscrewing and cleaning the blades and the surrounding area, is necessary to ensure optimal performance.

The Lawnmster 10 does not use a central guide wire. Instead, it navigates around the edge of your lawn and returns to the charging station without any issues. This edge-based navigation system allows it to efficiently cover the lawn area and find its way back to the charger, providing a convenient and effective mowing solution.
