operational reliability

The important question is the operational reliability. Problems with the softvare. But that is the question you probably cant answer.
I don’t want to go to some one repair shop far away.
Can a robot mower have a better reliability then the other?
So another question: Does the mower have some kind of “error mode” that it can still run, but with reduced function?

The operational reliability varies between models and brands. While I can't predict specific software issues for any particular mower, generally:

Premium brands like Husqvarna and STIHL typically have better reliability records
Newer models often have improved software but might have early bugs
Most robot mowers do have failsafe modes where they'll attempt basic operation despite certain errors
Many can run in a "degraded functionality" mode (e.g., if certain sensors fail but core cutting still works)
Local support availability is crucial - check dealer networks in your area before purchasing

Reliability issues are typically related to boundary wire detection, navigation sensors, and connectivity rather than the basic cutting mechanism.
