Ordered Yuka Mini 2 1000 but upgraded to Luba 2 1000

I have a 480sq M L shaped garden with 2 mature walnut trees canopy along but set in by 2 meters from a 6 foot hawthorn boundary hedge with other trees (inc a sycamore and crab apple) in the garden. There’s a slight slope steepening to 25% to a 3 foot drop essentially edged by a dry stone retaining wall as another main boundary with the last boundary (the inner of the L shape garden) being box hedging surrounding the decking to the house. I’ve had a 2021 husqvarna 430x (oversized for the area) working within boundary wires and it’s been fine but I’m always conscious of the wires when lawn maintenance is scheduled etc. I also find that I have to have the mower cutting for 6 hours plus every other day to avoid tufts remaining. Moreover, the weight of the mower on the narrow rear drive wheels combined with its random bounce off boundary mowing has caused grass/earth erosion at some of the boundaries, particularly those on the shade.

I plumbed for the Yuka mini 2 1000 with Lidar but have upgraded the order to a Luba mini 2 1000 (with tri vision and edge cutting) but I’m second guessing if that was the right move given the trees next to hawthorn hedging and whether my first choice (the Yuka with Lidar) was the best choice…?

I would definitely stick with the Luba Mini 2. The 4-wheel drive system provides much more confidence when dealing with varied terrain and slopes. In my testing, it actually performed better in corners and tighter spaces than the Yuka Mini 2, which was surprising.

Regarding the trees, you shouldn't have any problems as the AI vision has evolved significantly; it will help keep the mower on track even when GPS signal is weak/lost. As long as you have good Wi-Fi coverage or 4G service in the mowing areas, the mower will have no issues receiving the necessary RTK correction data. An external Wi-Fi extender can be used to help, but it isn't required if you have a strong 4G signal.
