| Private answer Hi Frank, Thank you for your kind words and for watching my videos—glad to hear they’ve been helpful! You’ve got some great questions about the Mini 800 and your lawn setup: 1. Cutting height for perimeters: At the moment, the Mini 800 (and most robotic mowers) uses the same cutting height setting for the whole mowing session, including both the main area and the perimeters. There isn’t an option to set a different height just for the edges or to create a separate “perimeter” zone with a different cutting height. If you want the edges shorter than the rest of the lawn, you would need to manually trim them after mowing. 2. 90° corners: You’re absolutely right—robotic mowers often struggle to cut right into sharp inside corners, especially 90° angles. Adding some flat stones or paving to “round out” those corners is a good idea, as it lets the mower travel further in and helps prevent tufts of uncut grass. This is a common solution and should work well, especially since your concrete edge is flat and level. 3. Using a Mini 1500 battery in the Mini 800: Swapping in a larger battery (like from the Mini 1500) into the Mini 800 isn’t officially supported by the manufacturer, and the software may not recognize or fully utilize the bigger battery. For your 260–270m² lawn, the Mini 800’s standard battery should be enough, as it’s designed for up to 800m². If it does need to recharge during a mow, it will automatically return to the base, recharge, and then finish the job. So, there’s no need to worry about swapping batteries for your lawn size. Extra tip: Since your concrete boards are flat and level, the Mini 800 should be able to drive over them and get over edge, especially if you set the mowing boundary right at the edge of the lawn in the app. However, like all robotic mowers, it may still leave a very narrow strip (a few centimetres) laying flat over the concrete boards that might need occasional touch-up with a trimmer. If you have any more questions or want advice on setup, feel free to ask. Good luck with your new mower! https://easylawnmowing.co.uk/mammotion-luba-mini-awd-review/ Best regards, Mark Marked as spam |
