Robot Mower edge cutting capability ?
♥ 0 | Hi Mark… Firstly congratulations on this fabulous site that you have set up .. it’s truly brilliant. I have a very small new back lawn but want a robot mower that can just take care of the job without manual edge trimming …. I have smooth paths on two sides of the lawn that are level with the lawn and I have had a block smooth and level with the lawn border layed on the other two sides that is 15cm. So there is no lawn to soil border anywhere. Is there a robot mower that can operate utilising the solid edges I have to cut over the edge of the lawn please ??? Wired boundary or non wired boundary?. Many thanks …. Mike Worrall (North Devon) ANSWERED Marked as spam Add comment |
Private answer Hi Mike Thank you for your kind words about the site! It sounds like you have a well-defined lawn, which is perfect for a camera-guided mower. Given your setup, a robotic mower that can utilise the solid edges you've created would be ideal, and it can help keep costs down since your lawn is small. If your budget allows, the Yuka Mini is a fantastic option. It features both vision/camera guidance and GPS/RTK guidance, enabling it to navigate effectively and cut right over the edges of your lawn. You can create a perimeter that works well with your smooth borders. The smallest model is for lawns up to 600㎡, so may be a little pricey at £849 for a smaller lawn. WORX also offers a vision-guided mower called the WORX Vision, but it's designed for larger lawns, so it may not be the best fit for your needs. Another option is the LawnMaster Ocumow 16, which is a drop-and-go model (budget), but do keep in mind it doesn’t come with a charging station. However, there’s an exciting new robotic mower from LawnMaster being released this week that does include a charging station and is vision-guided. I will be testing this mower later in the week and will have a video uploaded to show how well it works. Additionally, I’ll be testing both the Luba Mini and the Yuka Mini later this week. If you subscribe to my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@EasyLawnMowing, you’ll be notified when I upload the videos, and you can see these robotic mowers in action.
