Worx Landroid Vision L1300/Luba 2 AWD 5000

Having watched your review of WORX Landroid Vision L1600, I purchased an L1300 at the beginning of the mowing season. However, after numerous problems, Worx have finally agreed to provide me with a refund and the mower will be going back next week. I am now considering a Luba 2 AWD 5000 as a replacement but would appreciate clarification on a few issues before I place an order. Firstly, when navigating the perimeter boundary of the lawn sections, does the connection link between the mobile app (smart phone) use bluetooth or GPS? We have no mobile phone signal here and lose bluetooth within a few yards of the house. Secondly, does the GPS antenna need to be located close to the docking station (I wasn’t clear on the connection between the two during your video) or can it be located some distance away from the home station to boost range between lawns?

I'm happy to help clarify your questions about the Luba 2 AWD 5000.

Connection Link Between Mobile App and Mower:
The Luba 2 AWD 5000 typically connects to the mobile app using both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is used for close-range connectivity, while Wi-Fi extends the range significantly. If you have no mobile phone signal and lose Bluetooth within a few yards of the house, you would need to rely on Wi-Fi for remote control and monitoring. Without a strong Wi-Fi network covering your lawn area, you might face connectivity issues, however the mower will continue to mow the lawn with no problems without Wi-Fi once it has been set up.

GPS Antenna Placement:
The GPS antenna does not necessarily need to be located close to the docking station as it comes with its own separate power supply. It can be placed at a location that provides the best GPS signal reception and coverage for your lawn. The key is to ensure that the antenna has a clear line of sight to the sky to receive GPS signals effectively. This flexibility allows you to boost the range and ensure accurate navigation between different sections of your lawn. Please also note that there is now a solar panel available for the RTK station, so no power is needed as this will provide 100% of the required power. I have just received my solar panel, as this will allow me to place the RTK station higher up on the side of my house. I will be testing it within the next week or so.

Hi Mark,Thank you for the response, which is very useful. You say the mower will work with no WiFi after set-up but how can you set it up if you have no WiFi to begin with?

HiCan you bring the mower into an area where there is Wi-Fi to do the initial setup. You then use Bluetooth standing behind the mower, driving it around the lawn to map out the area.To be honest, you really need wi-fi to get the most out of the Luba in terms of control and monitoring. Is there no way you could push wi-fi out to where the mower will be working? I put up a TP-Link EAP225-Outdoor WiFi 5 Access Point on the back wall, and it has worked seamlessly with no drop in signal. You also, have the option to use a 4g sim in the Luba 2 as well (extending the range to several miles), so this may be worth investigating (not used myself to keep cost down). Thanks Mark
