Hello,
Is there any reason why I should not use an extension lead to connect to the charger? Probably that would be only on a temporary basis but I don’t currently have a nearby source of electricity.

Hi it is absolutely fine to use an extension lead, as I am sure you know make sure it is protected from the elements, or turned off and taken in before it rains.
