Yuka mini ??

Yuka mini ??

0

I have a small lawn of around 60–70 m² and had new turf laid last November. As I’m not getting any younger, I quite like the idea of a small robot mower to keep it maintained. I also like that they go out several times a week and keep the lawn looking really good.

What I’m looking for:
• Budget: ideally under £750
• Easy to set up and maintain
• No boundary wires
• Prefer systematic mowing (lines/rows) rather than random patterns

My one challenge is the charging base. Because of the electrics, it would have to sit on my new porcelain patio, so I can’t screw the base into the ground. I’d need some sort of alternative way to secure it , maybe a heavy slab, weights, or some other solution ,so suggestions on that would also be really helpful.

At the moment I’m looking at the Mammotion YUKA Mini, which seems to fit what I want.
But are there better options for me ???

The YUKA Mini is an excellent choice and exactly what I would have recommended for your specific needs. It handles small lawns perfectly, follows a systematic mowing pattern, and avoids the hassle of boundary wires, which will keep your new turf looking pristine with minimal effort.

Regarding your challenge with the porcelain patio, you definitely don't need to screw into your new tiles if you don't want to. I have my own base station set up on porcelain tiles and have found two great workarounds:

* Silicone / Mirror Sealer: In my first year, I used a bit of silicone/mirror sealer to bond the base to the tile. It held firmly through all weather but could still be pried up if necessary.
* Heavy-Duty Velcro: For the second year, I switched to double-sided heavy-duty Velcro. This has worked remarkably well; it keeps the base secure during docking but allows you to easily lift the base for winter storage or cleaning.

Naturally, screwing the base down is always an option if you are certain you won't want to move it, but for a porcelain patio, the Velcro or sealer methods are much friendlier to the surface.

For a 60–70 m² lawn and a budget under £750, the YUKA Mini is likely the best value-for-money option on the market right now that ticks all your boxes.

Wow. Thank you for your ultra quick reply. Because of where I may have to place my base, I am maybe considering drop and mow options as signal may not be great. I previously had the very cheap drop and mow made by CLEVA. I hated the random cutting and wasn’t that impressed. So sent it back. I wasn’t concerned about physically having to place it. Is there any other drop and mow that does straight lines ? Would the YUKA do this or would it have to be the YUKA 2 500 ? I just want to get it right and get the best finish possible.Thank you again

Yes, the YUKA mini 2 models feature a specific DropMow mode that solves exactly the issue you had with the random cutting of your previous mower. In DropMow mode, no mapping process is required. You simply place the mower down and press the "Mow & Start" buttons. Unlike the cheaper models that bounce around randomly, the YUKA will mow in a systematic N-shaped pattern (straight lines) based on the direction it is currently facing. This creates a temporary map for that specific session which isn't saved, making it perfect for quick, one-time jobs or areas where you are concerned about signal. It will give you that organized, straight-line finish you’re looking for without the frustration of random navigation.
