Yuka Mini 800 iNavi Service

Yuka Mini 800 iNavi Service

Hello – I have just purchased the model above and although not using it currently in the winter in the UK, I just want to ask using the wifi inavi mode… Is the wifi signal coming from the property shown in the video. I am trying to gain as much knowledge as I can in preparation for next spring. ie will I have to get an outdoor wifi antenna etc. I have been told by Mammotion I could just use the SIM card and the 4G service but for a small price can easily put wifi outside. Do you suggest wifi is better?

Yes, WiFi can easily be extended out to your back garden as long as it isn't too large. I did exactly this on my property (you can see the size in my video), and I used the Netgear EAP225 outdoor access point to extend my WiFi coverage reliably.

For the iNavi mode, having a stable WiFi connection is generally better than relying on 4G/SIM, as it tends to be more consistent and you won't have ongoing data costs. As you mentioned, for a relatively small price, you can set up outdoor WiFi, and I'd definitely recommend going that route. The EAP225 has worked brilliantly for me – it's weatherproof and provides excellent coverage.

So yes, I'd suggest WiFi over 4G if you can extend it easily. It'll give you better performance and peace of mind for next spring!

Thanks
Mark

Thanks for the answer. I do have an L-shaped garden BUT the furthest point away is about 100m. There are some wifi extenders that offer this distance - but I am also wondering whether you can have wifi and also iNavi 4G service working together for the furthest points. I think the cost for 6 months or even 12 months from Mammotion is quite reasonable.

Can you run both wifi and iNavi?

Hi Tim, you will need to decide between Wi-Fi and 4G, and switch between the two. The mower will not be able, as far as I know, switch to 4G when outside the Wi-Fi area, it is either or. I agree the 4G is so reasonable at £49.90 for the year and includes iNavi that would be the way I would go. Mark
