Hi everyone! Today, I’m excited to share my experience with the LawnMaster OcuMow® 18 robotic mower, focusing particularly on its innovative drop and mow feature. This mower is designed to make lawn care effortless, and I can’t wait to show you how it performs in action!
What is the Drop and Mow Feature?
The drop and mow feature allows you to simply place the mower on any lawn and let it do its thing. This is a game-changer for those of us looking to save time and effort while maintaining a beautiful lawn. Unlike its predecessor, the OcuMow 16, this model comes with a charging station that it returns to when it needs to recharge. See my video above to learn more and see this feature in action on my lawn.

Setting Up the Mower
To start, I placed the LawnMaster OcuMow 18 on my small lawn, which has various tight spots. I set the cutting height to the lowest setting at 20mm, which is perfect for a fresh cut for a lawn that is not too long. (If your lawn is longer, then start at a higher setting and work down). To activate the drop and mow mode, I simply pressed the dial, selected the mode, and hit the play button. It’s as easy as that!
Once I pressed the play button, the mower began its countdown and off it went! You could hear the blades spinning up, which is both exciting and reassuring. I watched as it started to navigate around the lawn, cutting the grass efficiently.
Performance After 40 Minutes
After about 40 minutes, the OcuMow 18 had completed its task beautifully. You would think that due to the random mowing pattern, there would be patches of uncut lawn. However, after just 40 minutes the lawn was completely cut. The low cut setting did an excellent job, and I was particularly impressed with how it navigated tight corners. The camera-guided navigation system helped it maneuver without getting stuck, which is crucial for smaller lawns.
While it didn’t cut entirely to the edges—something no robotic mower can do perfectly—it came very close, and I only had a bit of trimming left to do. Overall, it performed exceptionally well! Just keep in mind that this is a new mower for Spring 2025, so will continue to improve in terms of functionality, thanks to the ability to easily update the mower over time.
Why Choose the OcuMow 18?
This mower is not only simple to set up but also versatile. You can easily take it to another lawn and let it drop and mow there as well. The MX24 battery it uses is compatible with a range of other LawnMaster lawn tools such as hedge trimmers and leaf blowers, making it a great addition to your garden toolkit.
It also features a rain sensor and comes with a charging station, ensuring that it recharges itself when needed. This makes it perfect for busy homeowners who want to maintain a pristine lawn without the hassle.
