The onboard AI is not particularly intelligent. Got one of these and several times have found it stranded in dips in the lawn, just grinding its wheels to go forward but not moving, unable to extricate itself.
If I hit the stop button and then tell it to go “home”, back to the docking station , it then gets itself out of trouble, usually with a combination of reversing and turning on the spot until it can restore traction.
If it can get out of trouble when going “home” why can’t it do it during normal mowing??
The edge detection is good, the ultrasonics work well but not impressed that it can get stranded as it means I don’t have confidence it can be left to work unattended which sort of defeats the point of a robo mower.
