Internet Access/WiFi connection to robot mowers
Answer Question| ♥ 0 | I am considering a robot lawn mower for my 1,000m2 lawn. Unfortunately, we have no mobile phone signal in the garden and, therefore, no internet/WiFi access. Does this mean that my options are limited to non app control mowers? In other words, can I only use mowers that are controlled directly from the machine? | Private answer Hi It depends somewhat on the make and model of robotic mower. Some can be upgrade (firmware) and configured where you have internet access and then put them out to mow in the area with no access. You just wont have as much control and notifications from the mower. Most mowers can be started and scheduled from the mower itself and will operate without wifi, but you will not have the full functionality. There are also some models (LawnMaster and Flymo) that are simply by design and don't have apps etc. Have you considered pushing your wifi out to the lawn area.
