Perimeter wire tripping hazard

Perimeter wire tripping hazard

Complete novice here and thinking of getting a robotic mower. I see you need to lay a perimeter wire round the garden first. Can you see this when installed, and is it not a trip hazard and does it end up getting snapped?

Hi

No, not a trip hazard as the wire eventually works its way down into the turf. I cannot see mine on the front lawn now. It will take around 2-3 months to embed itself into the lawn if you lay and peg it on top. Where my path joined my lawn, I used a spade to create a shallow slot, the width of the path, to bury the wire on day one to avoid tripping(you could do this around the whole).

Hope this helps
