LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Vs Murray 2x18V (36V) 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower
Cordless lawn mowers have become increasingly popular in recent years due to their convenience and ease of use. Two popular models on the market are the LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower and the Murray 2x18V (36V) Lithium-Ion 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower IQ18WM37. Both mowers offer cordless operation, making them ideal for those who want to avoid the hassle of cords and petrol.
The LawnMaster 24V 37cm is designed for small to medium-sized gardens and promises a beautiful finish with each and every cut. It’s manufactured by Cleva, a brand that specializes in high-quality garden machinery. I have tested and reviewed four products from LawnMaster, and have been impressed with performance and build quality. The Murray, on the other hand, is designed for larger lawns up to 435m2 and comes with the same 37cm deck. Again, I have reviewed and tested the Murray mower, pole saw/trimmer and the grass trimmer and like the LawnMaster, been very impressed.
Both mowers have their own unique features and benefits, making it difficult to determine which is the better option. In this article, we will compare the LawnMaster 24V 37cm and the Murray 2x18V (36V) 37cm to help you make an informed decision on which mower is best for your lawn care needs.
Features
The LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower and the Murray 2x18V (36V) Lithium-Ion 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower IQ18WM37 are both powerful cordless mowers that offer a range of features to make lawn maintenance easy and efficient.
The LawnMaster comes with two powerful LawnMaster MX 24V 4.0Ah lithium-ion batteries, which provide enough power to mow medium-sized lawns. It features a 37cm cutting deck, which is ideal for small to medium-sized lawns. The LawnMaster can also supplied with a grass trimmer that power shares the batteries, which is perfect for tidying up the edges of your lawn.
The Murray Cordless Lawn Mower features a powerful Dual Battery brushless motor technology, which ensures longer life and low noise. It also has a 37cm cutting deck, which is perfect for small to medium-sized lawns. The Murray also has a high-performance motor that can handle areas of up to 435m2. It comes with a five-year warranty, which gives you peace of mind.
It’s worth noting that there are two features missing on the Murray that come as standard on the LawnMaster. These two features are the rear roller and the mulching plug. The mulching plug can be purchased separately, however, it has been unavailable for some time.
Both mowers are cordless, which means you don’t have to worry about cords getting in the way while you mow. They are also lightweight, which makes them easy to manoeuvre around your lawn. The LawnMaster and the Murray Cordless Lawn Mower both have adjustable cutting heights, which means you can adjust the height of the mower to suit the length of your grass. Both have a similar range of cuttings from around 20mm to 75mm.
Overall, both the LawnMaster and the Murray are excellent mowers that offer a range of features to make lawn maintenance easy and efficient. Whether you choose the LawnMaster or the Murray Cordless Lawn Mower will depend on your personal preferences, the features you require and the size of your lawn.
Battery Life
When it comes to battery life, both the LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower and the Murray 2x18V (36V) Lithium-Ion 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower IQ18WM37 have impressive run times. However, there are some differences between the two models.
LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower
The LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower is equipped with two 24V lithium-ion battery. Only one battery is used at a time, and according to the manufacturer and my testing, the battery has a run time of up to 25 minutes on a single charge. This should be enough to mow a small to medium-sized lawn. However, if you have a larger lawn, you may need to recharge the battery or used the second supplied battery before you finish mowing. I tested this on my 500m2 lawn, and both batteries just about enable me to cut the entire lawn. It must be noted that my lawn was not particularly long, so run-times will be shorter if your lawn is particularly long.
It’s worth noting that the batteries take around 2 hours to fully charge (1 hour each with single charger) . If you have a spare battery, you can swap them out to extend your mowing time. The LawnMaster Cordless Lawn Mower comes with two 4.0Ah battery, but you can also purchase additional 4.0Ah battery separately if you need longer run times.
Murray 2x18V (36V) Lithium-Ion 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower IQ18WM37
The Murray 2x18V (36V) 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower has two 18V lithium-ion batteries that work together to provide 36v and a run time of up to 45 minutes. This should be enough to mow a medium-sized lawn without needing to recharge the batteries.
The batteries take around 1 hour to fully charge, but unlike the LawnMaster, the Murray comes with a dual charger, so both batteries are charged simultaneously. The mower also has a battery level indicator, so you can see how much charge is left in the batteries from the handlebars.
Cutting Performance

LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower
The LawnMaster has a 37cm cutting width, making it ideal for medium-sized lawns up to 300m2. The cutting height can be adjusted centrally to six different levels, ranging from 25mm to 75mm, allowing for versatile cutting. These are very similar to that of the Murray mower.
The LawnMaster has a rear roller that creates stripes on the lawn, giving it a professional look. The roller is one thing missing on the Murray. The grass box has a capacity of 40 litres, which is relatively large and means less time spent emptying it. The LawnMaster has a safety key and is easy to start with the push of a button, making it convenient to use.
As mentioned above, the LawnMaster also comes supplied with a mulching plug, where this is an optional extra on the Murray.
Murray 2x18V (36V) Lithium-Ion 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower IQ18WM37
The Murray has the same 37cm cutting width, making it ideal for medium-sized lawns up to 425m2. It comes with two 18V 2.5Ah lithium-ion batteries, providing a total of 36V of battery power. The cutting height can be adjusted centrally to six different levels, ranging from 25mm to 75mm, allowing for versatile cutting.
The Murray does NOT have a rear roller unlike the LawnMaster, so no stripes with this one. The grass box has a capacity of 40 litres, which again is relatively large and means less time spent emptying it. The Murray is also supplied with a single safety key that can be removed to prevent accidental start ups.
Both mowers have similar cutting performance, with the same cutting width, cutting height adjustment, and grass box capacity. The only difference is the battery power, with the LawnMaster having a 24V system and the Murray having a 36V system. However, this does not necessarily mean that one is better than the other, as the performance of the mowers will depend on the specific conditions of each lawn.
Ease of Use
LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower
The LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower is incredibly easy to use, making it a great choice for those who want a hassle-free mowing experience. It is lightweight, weighing only 11.4kg, which makes it easy to manoeuvre around your lawn. The cutting height can be easily adjusted between 20mm-70mm with a single lever, allowing you to achieve the perfect cut for your lawn. Both mowers have battery power gauges on the handle bars, making it easy to see when the juice is getting low.
One of the standout features of this mower, is its cordless design. You won’t have to worry about tripping over a cord or being limited by the length of the cable. The two LawnMaster® MX24V 24V 4.0Ah lithium-ion batteries that come with the mower give you a total of up to 15 minutes of battery power per battery. The one-hour fast charger means that one battery can be charged while the other is being used, ensuring that you can keep mowing without any interruptions.
Murray 2x18V (36V) Lithium-Ion 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower IQ18WM37
The Murray 2x18V (36V) Lithium-Ion 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower IQ18WM37 is also easy to use, but it is slightly heavier than the LawnMaster mower, weighing in at 13.2kg. The cutting height can be adjusted between 25mm-75mm, which gives you more flexibility when it comes to achieving the perfect cut for your lawn. The mower also has a 37cm cutting width, which is the same as the LawnMaster mower.
Like the LawnMaster mower, the Murray mower is cordless, which makes it easy to manoeuvre around your lawn without any restrictions. The two 18V lithium-ion batteries that come with the mower give you a total of 36V of battery power. The mower also has a grass box with a 40-litre capacity, which means that you won’t have to stop and empty it as often as you would with a smaller grass box.
Price
When it comes to cordless lawn mowers, price is an important factor to consider. Both the LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower and the Murray 2x18V (36V) Lithium-Ion 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower IQ18WM37 are priced competitively, but there are some differences to note.
LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower
The LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower is priced at around £299, making it an affordable option for those looking for a reliable cordless lawn mower. It is designed for small to medium gardens and provides a beautiful finish with each and every cut.
One of the main advantages of the LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower is that it comes with some additional features out of the box. It comes supplied with a mulching plug for those that like the benefits of mulching and not collecting the cuttings, and is fitted with a rear roller for a stripped lawn appearance. The mulching plug is an optional extra, so makes the Lawnmaster even better value for money. The LawnMaster is powered by a 24V lithium-ion battery (as opposed to 36v on the Murray), which provides up to 25 minutes of run time and a little less umph than the Murray when it comes to tougher conditions. It also has a quick charge time of just 1 hour, so you can spend more time mowing and less time waiting for the battery to charge.
Murray 2x18V (36V) Lithium-Ion 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower IQ18WM37
The Murray 2x18V (36V) Lithium-Ion 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower IQ18WM37 is priced at around £389, making it slightly more expensive than the LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower. However, it does come with some additional features that may make it worth the extra cost.
One of the main advantages of the Murray 2x18V (36V) Cordless Lawn Mower is that it is powered simultaneously by two 18V lithium-ion batteries, that are manufactured by Briggs and Stratton, and provides up to 30 minutes of run time. Why is this better than the LawnMaster? Well, not only do the two batteries provide a little more power at 36v combined, but also, lithium-ion batteries only have a limited life span before they start to deplete. Briggs and Stratton batteries may well prove to last longer than that of the LawnMaster, however, only time will tell. I use both these mowers on my lawn throughout the growing period, so will keep you updated on the battery performance over time. It also has a quick charge time of just 1 hour with the added benefit of a dual charger.

Overall, both the LawnMaster 24V 37cm Cordless Lawnmower and the Murray 2x18V (36V) Lithium-Ion 37cm Cordless Lawn Mower IQ18WM37 are competitively priced and offer good value for money. However, the Murray model is slightly more expensive and has a superior build quality that may make it worth the extra cost.
