What’s the difference between these two mowers? Well, not a great deal as these two cordless mowers from Sprint are almost identical apart from a few differences detailed below.
Why a Briggs & Stratton Battery? Well, because Sprint is a brand of Briggs & Stratton. You may also notice that this Sprint mower is very similar the the Murray 37cm (IQ18WM37) cordless mower, that’s because Murray is also a brand of Briggs & Stratton.

Deck Size
The Sprint 37cm cordless mower has a smaller deck and blade size than that of the Sprint 44cm as the name suggests. So with this in mind both are designed to suit different lawn sizes.
The 37cm model is designed for lawns up to 520m² and the Sprint 44cm is designed for lawns up to 640m². The larger blade simply means you cut more lawn with every pass and cover a wider area with a single charge of the battery.
This doesn’t mean you can’t go for the larger 44cm deck size with a lawn over 520m². Just be careful that you don’t have narrower strips of lawn, also there is greater storage space required.
Batteries
Combined with the smaller cutting width on this Sprint 37cm mower you also get a single 5.0Ah battery that will charge in 55 minutes but give a shorter run time of around 45 minutes, hence the smaller coverage at 520m². The larger Sprint 44cm is supplied with two 5.0 Ah batteries.
Note, you will get a single charger with the 37cm (370P18V) and a dual charger with the 44cm (440P18V) .
Both the smaller 2.5 Ah and the 5.0 Ah batteries are compatible with other cordless power tools from Sprint.
Grass Collection Box Size
The grass collection box on this mower is a respectable 40 litres and is 10 litres smaller than that of its larger brother the Sprint 44cm (50 litres). This smaller grass collection box is still well suited to the smaller deck size, and remember the larger the grass collection box, the heavier the mower is to push around.
Weight
The only other small difference is that this Sprint 37cm mower weighs slightly less at 13.5 Kg compared with 15.4 Kg on the larger 44cm.

Hi Mark, I have found that the grass box ‘jumps’ off its hooks whilst moving over slightly bumpy ground. This seems to be a common complaint. Do you have any suggestions or fixes for this please?

Is there any reason not to purchase a sprint mower instead of the Murray which you quote as the best on your reviews? As far as I can see they are identical but the sprint is currently a lot cheaper

Yes, go for the Sprint if it’s on special offer as they are identical. Check the battery on the 37cm as the Sprint is 1 x 5Ah and the Murray is 2 x 2.5Ah.
Sometimes the Murray is on offer and cheaper than the Sprint.

I think it is wrong to say that the 18v Sprint has a 36v motor. It has to be an 18v motor, and Sprint confirm this on their oown website.
