Lawn Area Coverage
This WORX Landroid L1000 WR147E is a fast and nimble robotic lawn mower. It has a cutting width of 18cm and is the perfect automated mowing solution for lawns up to 1000 square metres.
Max Incline
The Landroid L1000 can handle inclines up to 35-percent. Unless you have an extra steep lawn area the machine will have no problem keeping banks and slopes neat and tidy.
Charge Mow time
The average charge time is around 70 minutes with a cut time of 90 minutes. This will depend on conditions, but the device will simply recharge itself when necessary, so there is no need to worry too much about this.
Cutting Heights
You can mow the lawn to the height of your choosing between 30mm and 60mm. As you would expect from the sophisticated and user-friendly WORX range, changing the height setting is super quick and easy.
WORX has taken its robotic lawn mower navigation to a whole new level, and this is one of the most intelligent navigators to date. The complex logic allows it to cut faster and better than ever before. More on the sophisticated navigation later.
Power System
The WORX Landroid L1000 WR147E comes with a 20V battery giving it plenty of power and stamina. The battery is Lithium-ion making it lightweight and effective.
One of the many things I like about the WORX Robotic lawn mowers is the WORX PowerShare feature. This means that the battery is interchangeable with all other 20V PowerShare products. You can use the same battery with other garden equipment as well as their power tools. There is a wide selection of quality products, so the odds are you will acquire more equipment over time.
This feature is extremely convenient and will save you money over time.

Charging Station
WORX refers to their robotic lawn mower charging stations as stealth charging stations. While this is often a bit of an unsightly and untidy part of the garden, WORX manages to avoid this with a cleverly designed station.
It is compact so it will be barely noticeable. The base is a grid allowing grass to grow which is then neatly cut as the Landroid docks. The result is a tidy and effective system.
Blade
The blade system consists of three rotating blades. The floating blade deck ensures that the lawn mower can glide over objects and obstacles with ease. This makes for efficient cutting and a smooth verdant lawn.
The blades will not last forever but fortunately, the kit comes with extra blades. It will be a while before you need to purchase additional blades. Replacement blades are readily available and reasonably priced.
Control Panel & Setup
While the Landroid has a user interface most of your controls will be done via the app. It is user-friendly and gives you complete control as well as all the history and information you might need.
A great benefit is that as new software updates become available these are easy to install. One can do it via USB or more conveniently with an over the air update. This will ensure your device has the latest features for peak performance.
Mowing Features
Cut to Edge
Many robotic lawn mowers disappoint a bit in this area but, thanks to the cut to edge feature, WORX does this better than most. It will leave you with neat edges for a better-looking lawn and less effort needed from your side.
Cutting Pattern
The WORX Landroid L1000 WR147E uses intelligent navigation to mow the lawn faster and with greater accuracy than most other options. This reduces wastage for a more efficient cut that will ensure the health and good looks of your lawn.
What makes it so intelligent is the WORX AIA technology. This built-in intelligence takes the guess-work out of the setup and operation. This allows for the ideal mowing scheduling for the health and appearance of your lawn.
The system learns as it goes, constantly learning and improving with every cut.
Narrow Passage
This is yet another area in which the WORX robotic lawn mowers excel. The compact design combined with the intelligent and sophisticated navigation system allows them to handle narrow passages extremely well.
Multi-Zone
The system is designed for multi-zone functionality. Ensure you follow the setup instructions carefully for this to work effectively.
Height Adjustment
WORX makes height adjustment amazingly easy and you can adjust from 30mm to 60mm in a second or two.
Mulching
As the WORX Landroid L1000 WR147E mower cuts, it leaves the clippings on the surface of the lawn. They are fine clippings that are almost undetectable. Not only does this mean no trips to dump out the clippings, but it is great for the lawn.
As the mulch breaks down it will feed valuable nutrients to the soil. This will keep your lawn healthy with minimal need for fertiliser. It is water-wise, eco-friendly, and saves time. Because the blades cut so well and the machine operates frequently the mulching works extremely well.
Rain Sensor
The device has a rain sensor. Using it is entirely up to you.
As this model has IPX5 waterproof rating it can work quite happily in the rain (and can easily be hosed down for cleaning). If you choose to not let it do this, it is a quick and easy process to override the mowing schedule and stop it from mowing during heavy rain.
App & Installation
WORX goes out of their way to make the user experience a pleasure. The installation, setup, and operation are a breeze thanks to the intelligent and intuitive system. The app will guide you through the process although there are instructions if you need assistance. The process is simple.

Safety Features
Lift & Tilt Sensors
These sensors are present and will stop the blade when any lift or tilt is detected.
Quick-Stop Blade
For safety, the blade will stop when any hard obstacles are encountered or the machine is lifted or tilted. This feature will prevent accidents.
PIN & Alarm System
The WR147E has a pin code and alarm system as well as a locking mechanism.
Lawn Mower Garage
Whilst your robotic mower is completely fine working in the sun and rain, you do have the option to build or purchase a lawn mower garage. If you are not building one yourself, then there are many different designs and options available. Most robotic mower manufacturers will have a dedicated docking station roof, that will provide some protection from the rain and sun, however you can take it one step further and have a completely bespoke design. To see what can be achieved see my article Top 9 Best Robotic Lawn Mower Garage Ideas.
Accessories
The range of accessories available is another feature that sets the Landroid range apart. By making them optional extras, WORX is able to keep costs down without restricting your options. This makes the equipment extremely versatile.
Anti Collision System (ACS)
The ACS makes the already intelligent navigation even better. It gives the robot impeccable obstacle avoidance abilities. The system uses sophisticated ultrasonic sensors to give it precision awareness.
Voice Control
If you want to take the convenience of a robotic lawn mower to a whole new level you can add on voice control. Whilst it is easy enough to operate using other means, voice control needs no internet connection as you do with Google Assistant or Alexa. It adds an additional layer of ease of use.
Find My Landroid (GPS Tracker)
While the WORX Landroid L1000 WR147E comes with pretty decent security you can further enhance this to protect your investment. The Find my Landroid feature uses both mobile signals and GPS to help you locate the device in the event of theft.
Off Limits
Most of us have obstacles or parts of the garden where the mower is not wanted or needed. This feature allows you to effectively ring-fence those areas. This is done conveniently without the need for the primary boundary wire.
Radio Link
A Wi-Fi connection is not always as reliable as one would want. To avoid any connectivity issues one can get a radio link that will give you a reach of up to one kilometre.
Warranty
The Landroid will come with a 2-year limited warranty. If you register your product with them (a very simple online process) you will get an additional year, extending this to 3 years.

Its great to see that WORX have listened to the WORX robotic mower community and added a floating deck on this WORX Landroid L1000 WR147E mower. A floating deck is less like to get stuck on uneven surfaces or paths and just takes this robotic mower to the next level.

What happens if the obstacle is within 1 m of the edge? The video seems to imply that islands can only be created if they are more than 1m from the edge?
I presume extra wire can be purchased? Is there a limit
Hi Peter, the island perimeter wire will need to be more than 1 m from the main perimeter wire, otherwise it will be treated as a passage. Yes extra wire can be purchased, the max is 350 m long. Below is a link to the user manual that details of of these areas. Hope this helps.

In the specification it says the cutting width is 20cm but in the FAQ it says 18. Which is it?
Hi Toband
Apologies, it is indeed 18cm. I have updated the table to reflect this.
Thanks for taking the time to point this out.

Mark
Hi Mark,
Great review. Is it possible to cross a gravel driveway with this unit?
Regards,
Ronan
Hi Ronan,
Many thanks for your positive feedback.
It can work, however the gravel needs to be firm with smaller stones to prevent a raised larger stone triggering its sensor or “beaching” the mower on its blade. You could consider laying a mesh grid along the path for crossing.
If the path is not too long you may want to either lay slabs or block paving across the gravel, running the perimeter wires on each side.
Hope this helps
Mark
A really thorough set of reviews – very helpful. Thank you. I’m edging towards the Worx L1000, but two questions about servicing (which lots of reviews fail to mention, by the way):
1. I believe the Worx company base is in Austria? Is it difficult to get Worx robot mowers serviced in the UK?
2. How often do robomowers need servicing in general?
Hi Glyn
Thanks for your message.
I know some people have their robotic mowers serviced annually, particularly for the Husqvarna range of high end robotic mowers.
With the WORX mowers you should have no issues servicing the mower yourself. It is basic cleaning and replacing blades if needed.
A link below to an article that will give you an idea on what’s involved.

Thanks
