Summary
The Flymo EasiStore is an electric corded lawn mower that has been designed to reduce your storage requirements through its vertical storage option. It can be purchased in three deck sizes, 30cm, 34cm and 38cm, and is supplied with an integrated rear roller for stripped lawn appearance. The three size choices also have increasing motor power from 1200W to 1600W and grass collection box sizes from 30 litres to 45 litres. A full comparison of these 3 EasiStore mowers can be seen in the review below.
Flymo’s EasiStore are a range of electric lawn mowers with both grass collection and lawn rolling capabilities. The mowers come in a range of sizes, designed for small lawns up to medium-size gardens. The EasiStore is a great machine for those that have little storage space and are unable to lift a mower on to a rack.
The 300R, 340R, and 380R can all stripe your lawn — and it will leave you standing back to admire your handy work at the end of the day. The EasiStore is available as a plug-in electric mower— there is also a cordless option on the smaller of the two models.
There is also a cordless battery version of Flymo EasiStore and you can see a full review on this link – Flymo EasiStore 340R Li Review.

Power System
Flymo EasiStore mowers use modern brushless motors. Brushless are considered to be more efficient than the classic design of a brush motor. Brushless motors also tend to be less prone to burnout or fatigue.
There are two options for the EasiStore range. You can either get the electric corded version, which is available across the range of blade sizes, from 30 centimetres to 38 centimetres. Or the cordless versions, which applies to the smaller 300R and 340R models.
The electric corded EasiStore models are supplied with a 10-metre power cable – this applies to all 300R, 340R, or 380R models. One of the main differences relates to the size of the motor, where the base model – the 300R has a 1200-watt motor, and weighs less than 9kg. The 380R has a 1600-watt motor, which increases the total weight to 12.6kg.
The 11kg 340R has a 1400-watt motor, which for most owners, is going to be more than enough power for small to medium sized lawns. Though, at the time of writing, the 380R is the better deal as it costs less than the 340R. And the extra width and power of the 380R means that you will be flying through the grass that much faster.
Below is a handy table that shows the motor power of each of the 3 options.

Performance
All EasiStore lawn mowers have grass combs behind the front wheels to guide grass into the blade. These grass combs increase the practical cutting width of the blade — up to the width of the deck.
And all models are lightweight so that the front wheels do not compress the grass down as much before the blade has a chance to cut it.
The larger the model, the taller the handle, with the 380R being the tallest at 1-metre. Higher handles will make mowers easier to push, as will a wider wheel diameter. And both the 380R and 340R have 16cm rear wheels — in comparison the 300R has 14cm rear wheels.
A surprising fact is that there is little difference in weight between the 300R and the 340R models. For more information on all the differences between these models see my comparison table below.
Blades
You can purchase either a 30-centimetre or 34-centimetre steel blade for both cordless and corded models. With the corded version you will also have an option for a larger 38-centimetre blade. Each hardened steel blade has a performance coating to prevent corrosion and to increase its lifespan.
These high-performance blades have wings at their tips to increase the lifting power and improve the cut quality of the grass. This lifting blade also improves the movement of grass clippings into the grass box, reducing the mess left on your lawn.
Height Adjustment
All EasiStore electric corded lawn mowers can vary in cutting height, from 20mm up to 60mm. Both the 340R and the 380R have a central height adjustment lever, which changes the height by 10mm at a time.
This height adjustment lever is over one of the front wheels and connects to all four-wheels, so that the deck height changes are even and level. With each change, the lever locks into place to give the operator 5 concise height options to choose from depending on the season and lawn condition.
The 300R has a series of spacers that the operator must insert or remove from between the blade and the motor, to change the cutting height. And this also limits the 300R’s height choices to 3, with 20mm between each. Again giving you a choice of the same lowest and highest cutting heights from 20mm to 60mm.
Cutting Diameter
You can choose from three lifting-blade widths. The entry-level 300R has a 30-centimetre blade, meaning a cutting area of 0.28m² with each rotation. The 340R has a 34-centimetre blade, which gives the mower a 29% increase in cutting area than the 300R.
And the 380R has a 38-centimetre blade, with a cutting area of 0.45m² that is 60% greater than that of the 300R. This improvement in the cutting area is more efficient for power consumption, and you are going to be cutting more grass with each step taken.
Below is a table that shows the deck width and the recommended lawn size for each of the Flymo EasiStore mower options.

Grass Box Capacity
The Flymo EasiStore grass boxes are solid plastic, with vents that surround the rear and the sides of the box to improve the flow of grass cuttings. All the models have a grass box that has a mechanical fill indicator, which returns to a flat position when the box becomes full. This is a nice touch as not all mowers have this feature, it will take the guesswork out of knowing when the box is full.
The 300R comes with a 30-litre grass box that will suffice for a well-kept lawn of 250m². The 340R has a 35-litre box allowing you to keep going for up to 300m² before you need to empty it. And the 380R 45-litre box gives you enough space to collect the grass clippings from a 375m² lawn.
All grass boxes have a robust handle that you can use to lift it from the rear of the machine when it becomes full. The handle also acts as a hook, so that the box can hang from the handlebar when in storage.

Practicalities
Though the EasiStore is simple, there are some clever additions to make this mower more compact than other machines of a similar size.
With the handlebar folded down, the EasiStore can stand on its rear end in a vertical position.
The large and non-compressible grass box’s design means that you can store it on the rear — using the mower as a stand.
The handlebar also has a built-in cable tidy, allowing you to keep the cable neat and untwisted, ready for the next time you lay it out.
Both the 340R and the 380R have central height adjustment levers with 5 height settings. But, the 300R has 3 settings, and you need to add or remove spacers to the blade each time you want to change the cutting height (for me this is a limitation and therefore I would opt for one of the larger models).
Integrated grass combs make cutting along a wall of a lawn border that much easier and will reduce the amount of trimming needed after mowing.
The handlebar will fold into two — but the real practicality comes when the machine is stood upright for storage, and the grass box is hanging from it.
The throttle controls are a curved plastic. This simple throttle makes operating the machine more comfortable for both right and left-handed users.
Even the larger 380R is lightweight, making it easier to navigate around a lawn. And a lighter mower means that you have more options over where you want to store it, such as on a shelf.
The large diameter rear wheels on the 340R and 380R make traversing uneven ground easier. And the larger wheels also cope better with the increase in weight as the grass box becomes full.
Safety Features
Some safety features, which prevent accidental starting by an operator or a child, need interaction, to deactivate them. But the EasiStore also has many passive features that make operating this mower that much safer for all.
There is a safety button on the handlebar, which the operator needs to depress to release the throttle grips.
For the 340R and the 380R models, there is a single height control lever to ensure the deck is level and balanced.
You can wrap the excess power cable around the cable hanger to prevent twisting or getting caught up in the blade if you happen to run over it.
You can adjust the height and angle of the push-bar to give you more control over the mower.
If the motor overheats the safety fuse activates to prevent coil-damage, cutting power to the motor. The fuse needs to return to normal temperature before the operator can attempt to restart the machine.
A solid grass collection box will protect the operator from high-speed debris. Debris such as stones or sharp sticks can pass through a regular fabric grass box at high speed — possibly causing injury.
Roller (Stripes)
All levels of the EasiStore have an integrated roller that will create effective and attractive stripes over your freshly cut lawn. The roller is set under the grass box at the rear of the mower. The roller runs between the rear wheels, so there is a small area between the deck, on each side, that the roller misses.
EasiStore’s roller is small, but the placement means it puts down a lot of pressure on the grass. The roller also helps the operator cut over the boundaries of the grass and an island garden bed without scalping the grass.
The EasiStore sets a good example as a model for all-electric mowers on the market. You rarely see an electric mower of this size and price with such a feature as a roller, but one possible reason is the absence of mulching.
Mulching
The EasiStore range does not have a mulching blade, and neither does it have a mulching plug. Mulching is good if you worry about binning the grass clippings, or local town management has made it costly to do so. If you are looking for a mower that mulches, please see my link of best Mulching Mowers below – LINK HERE TO MULCHING MOWERS.
Mulching can be a good option for those that want to fertilize their lawns organically. But grass clippings scattered over a lawn tend to make it look messy. And if you have a roller, you will want to have the lawn as clipping-free as you can get it to enhance the striping effect. For this reason mulching and rear rollers do not normally go well together.
With the Flymo EasiStore range, it is suitable for homeowners with the roller being a higher priority over the mulching function — and for this size of the mower, it is the choice you will have to make.

Pros & Cons
Should You Buy this Flymo EasiStore Lawn Mower?
Flymo likes to come out with mowers that have that one feature you have always sought after. The roller is the most important feature on this machine, and even the entry-level model, the 300R has one. For the price, it is one of the least expensive electric mowers with a roller that you can find currently on the market.
And if you are scouting for something that is good value, cuts your grass effectively and leaves stripes, then you have found it in the EasiStore range. If you also want to mulch your grass, you can try to leave the grass box off from the rear and re-mow the same areas, but it will not have the same effect.
The weight of the machine makes it more manageable for less-firm individuals. And the roller adds to the stability when using the EasiStore. And the fact that the EasiStore is its own storage unit means that there is no need to lift it off the ground to reduce the amount of storage space it takes up.
Cable length is a little tricky, but a long cable is easy to twist and tangle. Many electric mowers are supplied with a similar length of cable — around 10 metres. If you need a longer power cable, it is better to use a secondary extension lead with a fuse, to protect yourself and the mower.
Flymo is a trusted and well respected brand, where service, parts and support are readily available and very reasonably priced.
Flymo has also done well to think about both right and left-handed operators, by going with a dual-throttle control that can work with either hand. Sometimes clever comes in simple packages, and the EasiStore is a perfect example of that.

Hi
I have limited storage and have tried to find all the dimensions of both the 340r and 380r when they are put in their upright storage position. Is this something you have access to please? I can work out the approximate sizes from the dimensions on the Flymo website, but this is with the handles assembled for use but I would like to be more exact if possible.
Thank you in advance.
Hi Denise
No, I’m sorry I no longer have this mower so would be estimating the dimensions as you have done. I believe the height is 110cm when stored vertically. the width would be a little more than the cutting width 34-35cm, and the height I would estimate at around 30cm.
Hope this helps.
Mark
Hi,
Thanks for your review. It was helpful. One question many people have been complaining about height adjustment leaver moving to lowest setting, some are as old as 2020. Has anything been done to fix this problem in desigh?

Regards,
Hi Atul
No, this is the same lever and has the design has not been changed.
The problem seems to be when cutting longer grass as the pressure pushing back on the front wheel (on the side of the lever) is increased and can be enough to force the lever out and pop back to the lowest setting. I have seen this with other brands that have this design of height adjustment lever.
I will add a note onto the review to let my readers know.
Many thanks
Mark
Thanks for your kind reply Mark. I have been looking to buy lawnmower and keen to see stripes on my lawn. I have shortlisted “Cobra GTRM38”, “Bosch Rotak 34R” and “Flymo EasiStore 34R”, all wired. Main requirements are stripy lawn, compact to store and reliable which can last longer. With your expertise which one would you recommend? If there is any better model which delivers long lasting stripes, even if little expensive(upto £200).
Regards,
Hi Atul
Thanks for your message. With all these electric mowers, although they will stripe the lawn, due to their lightweight, they will not last as long as those created with a heavier petrol mower or even a dedicated roller.
To be honest all the mowers will make a good purchase. The Flymo is great value for money, however I can see the Bosch has a £30 reduction on Amazon at the moment so makes it the same price as the Flymo. At this price I would go for the Bosch. If you tend to leave it a while between cuts, then pay a little extra for the Cobra as it will deal better with longer grass and you are getting a slightly larger deck.
Hope this helps.
