What’s really impressive is that, even though this would be considered a more low budget option, it mimics the power of more expensive tools so you don’t have to compromise on performance.

One of the main selling points of the Hyundai HYMT5200X is its superbly powerful engine which is surprising to find on such an affordable bit of kit.
The Hyundai HYMT5200X runs on a 2 cycle 52cc engine that is incredibly durable and, when well taken care of, will provide a long service life. Couple this with good maintenance of the tool itself and you’ve got something that is going to perform for years.
The engine does boast a soft, easy start function but I’ll be totally honest, it still takes some getting used to. It’s not as tricky as some petrol engines to get going but you’ll generally need to prime it more than is suggested in the manual.
However, that is counteracted by the fact that the Hyundai HYMT5200X’s engine produced low emissions. While petrol tools are supremely powerful, there’s a lot of concern about the damage they can do to the environment so this is great news.
Performance
The Hyundai HYMT5200X is a heavy duty tool designed for tough and challenging gardening tasks. It is perfect for domestic gardeners and will make light work of those demanding jobs. What’s more, it’s beautifully versatile thanks to the interchangeable heads. But I’ll look at those in more detail later on.
There is one thing that some users have noticed and I do agree with this. Since the engine is as powerful as it is, this can cause the tool to go over the top on jobs where a little more precision and a delicate touch is needed. For example, when you’re trimming grass, you’ll need to go carefully otherwise the Hyundai HYMT5200X may end up tearing up sod, it’s that powerful!
That said, if you do need something a little less heavy duty then Hyundai makes a gentler model, the IC52-J which might be worth considering.
Blade
The main event of the Hyundai HYMT5200X is the brushcutter tool which comes with a triple blade that’s robust enough for a variety of applications. It’s ideal for cutting through denser foliage and does a brilliant job.
There is also the 43 cm grass trimmer attachment which is designed for more gentle tasks such as trimming overgrown grasses and out of control weeds. For this, you get a bump feed nylon line which offers convenience and ease of use.
The Hyundai HYMT5200X has a third attachment in the form of a ten inch chain saw. This is great for cutting through branches and has a 295mm blade making it suitable for almost any garden task.
You also get a hedge trimmer with a 42.5cm cutting blade. What I love about this is that you can adjust the angle of the cutting head to one of 12 different positions so no matter what the angle, you won’t have trouble cutting.
Mitox 28MT-a Select 5-in-1 Practicalities
Compared to the Mitox 5 in 1 tool, the Hyundai HYMT5200X is a little more lightweight at 5.6kg. That said, this can still feel pretty heavy when you’re using the tool for a long period of time.
But the main benefit of the Hyundai HYMT5200X is the attachment selection. If you don’t have the space in your garden shed to store several different tools then this is the ideal product for you. The heads don’t take up a world of space and they’re super easy to attach.
Accessories
The Hyundai HYMT5200X comes with a shoulder harness which makes the tool a lot easier to handle and manage especially when you have a lengthy job to do. This support can mean the difference between staying comfortable and giving up before the work is done.
What’s more, the Hyundai HYMT5200X comes with an extension shaft which is the final of the 5 attachments. This allows you to extend your cutting reach to a whopping 4 metres when using the chain saw head and this is significantly farther than the Mitox 5 in 1 tool.

Should You Buy The Mitox 28MT-a Select?
I think that the Hyundai HYMT5200X is the perfect multi tool for people who don’t want to spend their life savings but still want something that is going to keep up with more expensive tools. It really does have the same power and ability as higher end products and it performs superbly well.
The Hyundai HYMT5200X is a great choice for anyone who needs a space saving tool that’ll tackle a range of garden jobs. All of your trimming, pruning and cutting needs will be taken care of but you’ll still have room in the garden shed.
I personally wouldn’t buy this tool if you’re looking for something light and delicate. There is no denying that the Hyundai HYMT5200X is a heavy duty, robust piece of equipment that is made to meet demanding needs.
Conclusion
Am I impressed by the Hyundai HYMT5200X? In short, yes I am. While there are a couple of things that I feel could be improved on, this certainly doesn’t take away from how powerful and effective this tool is.
