The large motor on this Hyundai HYT2622-3 Petrol Hedge Trimmer adds to the weight, but the longer blade gives it more functionality. For some reason, Hyundai went with a small tank on this model.

The engine on this Hyundai HYT2622-3 Petrol Hedge Trimmer is a 2-stroke, 26cc power unit that abides by the EU sound and air pollution laws. The 2-stroke runs on a 40:1 fuel/oil mix, which is still a low oil content. The motor runs the blades through a geared transmission, which helps to increase cutting pressure at the blades.
The maximum speed of the engine is very high for a trimmer, accelerating to 10500 rpm, so you should be able to get through a hedge at a decent rate. This large engine does have a detrimental effect on its mass, and this comes in at 6kg (dry weight). You will not want to hold this above your head for too long.

Blade

- This has a shrapnel guard, but again it is not huge, and its purpose is more to control the direction of branches. Any user should use safety goggles.
Practicalities
The main control handle on the Hyundai HYT2622-3 Petrol Hedge Trimmer will rotate 90 degrees, left or right. So that you can hold the trimmer at the best angle, the front handle is a U-shaped bar. Both handles would accommodate a left-handed person. Except for the power switch, which only works for a right-handed person, lefties would need to change hands.
The fuel tank is mounted under the engine with a high spout that jets out the side to make refuelling quick and safe. The position of the opaque tank makes it easy to see how much fuel you have left. The kill switch is the most important part, and for some reason, it is set out of the way. And as previously pointed out, it would be impossible for a left-handed person to use it in a hurry.
The front guard is not the smallest we have seen in a trimmer, but it is close. A small guard does have the benefit of not obstructing your view of what you are cutting. But you have to wonder why they moved from a sensible larger guard to what all the trimmer manufacturers use now.
