The LawnMaster 1800W 40cm electric lawn mower is perfect for medium to large gardens with a 40cm cutting width. While you might think that a corded mower would be impractical for a larger garden, yes you will somewhat be restricted by its 10m cable, an extension lead is likely to be needed.
This electric lawn mower offers a wide range of features that make it great for easy garden maintenance. Power System
The LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower runs on a powerful 1800 watt motor which is essential for a tool designed for slightly larger spaces. However, if your garden isn’t all that big, there are other models available. There’s the 1400w and 1600w younger brothers with slightly smaller 34cm and 37cm cutting widths, respectively. So if you don’t want to miss out on the features of the LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower, but feel it’s a little too large, it’s good to know you’ve got options.

In my video below you can see the mower and its power / performance in action. When I was testing this mower not only was my lawn longer than I normally leave it, but it was also damp. The 1800W motor performed exceptional well and you could hear the T-Drive™ system, which automatically adjusts the torque to maintain the blade speed in tougher cutting conditions, such as long or damp grass.

Performance
What impressed me the most about the LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower was the T-Drive function. This is a type of automated power that adjusts how the motor runs according to the cutting conditions.
This means that cutting longer grass, in damp conditions or any other situation that might be a little more tricky, the LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower automatically ups the power to make the job easier. When things are smooth sailing, it’ll dial down the power to conserve energy.
Another feature that impressed me with the performance of this cordless mower was the way in which the rear roller striped the lawn. It is now 2 weeks since I cut the lawn and the stripes are still defined and looking fantastic.
Again, you can see from my video the mower did a great job of cutting up to the edge, saving time with any trimming after the mow.
This LawnMaster 1800W mower weighs just 15kg and with those large rear wheels was a breeze to manoeuvre around my lawn. The full width handles also helped to make both left and right turns easy, adding to the overall great performance of this mower.

Deck & Blade
The LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower is made for medium to large lawns and has a cutting width of 40cm. That’s great if you want to get around a bigger lawn more quickly as you’ll cover more ground in one pass. And owing to the high quality blades, you won’t need to worry about going over the same patch multiple times.
The underside of the deck is smooth and obstacle free making it easy for cleaning once I had finished mowing the lawn.
Rear Roller
If you want to create a professional finish to your lawn with a traditional striped look, then it’s easy with the LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower since it is fitted with a rear roller. Not only does this give your lawn an appealing look which is easy to achieve, but it also adds to the stability of the mower.
Again, I hope you can see from my video just how well this electric LawnMaster MEB1840M did at striping my lawn. The fitted rear roller is a single piece and runs almost the full width of the mower. As mentioned above, I still have beautifully manicured striped appearance two weeks after the initial cut.
On top of this, the rear roller provided extra stability and allowed me to cut over the edge of the border, which coupled with the larger rear wheels gave me a mower that was easy to manoeuvre.
All in all, I was extremely impressed with the performance of the roller on this mower.
Handles
One of the things that annoys a lot of homeowners is the fact that their mowers are so difficult to store. Without a folding handle, they take up so much room in the shed, which is why I was very pleased to see that the LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower comes with a folding handle. Again, if you check out my video above, you will see the folding handles in action.
The padding on the handles was thick and good quality making the mower comfortable to use, and absorbed the vibrations well.
As mentioned above, the OPC runs the entire width of the bars, making it easy to use and turn at the end of each run.
What’s more, there’s also a carry handle in the centre of the mower so moving it in and out of storage and taking it to the lawn is that little bit more simple.
If that wasn’t enough, this mower allows you to adjust the height/angle of the bars to suit the height of the operator, this ensures you mow with the correct posture.
Wheels
This LawnMaster has much larger rear wheels. The benefit of this is that the lawn mower will be more stable and provides better grip. This is great if the ground in your garden isn’t totally even, or if you have a number of slopes to tackle.
Height Adjustment
When you first cut the lawn at the beginning of the mowing season, you’ll need a slightly higher cutting height. As we move towards summer, you’ll reduce this height and the fact that the LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower has a choice of six cutting heights ranging from 20mm to 70mm, allows for excellent versatility. In addition to this, there’s no messing around when it comes to changing the cutting height as everything is done with an easy to use central lever, as you can see in my video above.
Once the height is chosen the mechanism ensures that it will not bounce out on the first bump you encounter, like some mowers I have tested previously.
Grass Collection Bag
The LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower comes with an innovative 42L Redi-Bag that is designed for maximum ease of use and practicality. For starters, the fabric design means that the clippings will be more compact because of improved airflow. This isn’t the largest grass collection bag I’ve ever seen, so this feature is even more important.
On top of that, the grass bag conveniently collapses so it sits on top of the mower when in storage. No more taking up masses of space in the shed.
Whilst the mower is easy to assemble, the assembly of the grass collection bag can be a little tricky. You will need a cross head screw driver to secure the metal supports to the bag. You can always refer to my video to see how I go about assembling the bag.

Cutting Options
Mulching
The LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower comes with a mulching plug providing you with more ways to mow your grass. This plug replaces the grass collection bag and slots into the back of the mower. As you cut the grass, the clippings circulate around the deck and are then sent back to the lawn to act as a natural fertiliser.
This is great if you want an organic way to take care of your lawn and keep it healthy. Moreover, you won’t need to worry about spending a small fortune on other types of fertiliser; it’s a win win.

Cut & Collect
The grass collection on this mower is as expected. The cuttings are compacted well into the collection bag, thanks to the good circulation and sharp cutting blade.
Rear Discharge
The rear flap can be propped open on this electric mower to allow an additional cutting option of rear discharge. This is not something I personally use, but it is good to know it is available, if needed.
Safety Features
As standard with all electric lawn mowers, there is also an Operator Presence Lever and safety button.

Practicalities
One thing I have learnt from testing several LawnMaster mowers, is they don’t scrimp and scrape on practical features included on their mowers. Remember this mower has 3 cutting options, folding & adjustable handles at both the mid and lower sections, grass full flap indicator, cut to edge, is lightweight and has a great range of cutting heights. All of this makes this mower practical in so many ways, ensuring you have a tool for all seasons and situations.

Pros & Cons
Should You Buy This Model?
If you’re after a lawn mower that won’t break the bank but still has a wide range of features that helps you create a professional finish and is well built then, the LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower is definitely worth considering.
It’s great for bigger lawns thanks to the 1800w motor and decent cutting width. However, the 10m power cable may be a little restrictive, so it might be time to start thinking about getting a cordless mower unless you’re happy to use an extension lead. LawnMaster do produce an equivalent cordless model called the LawnMaster 41cm Cordless Lawn Mower CLMF4841E and two electric smaller deck size models.
I’d also recommend this mower to anyone who wants something versatile, but uncomplicated. There are a lot of options with the LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower, but nothing is difficult to figure out. If this is your first lawn mower, you’ll quickly get to grips with how to use it while also having exposure to some important mowing features like the rear roller and mulching plug etc.
Conclusion
I was vastly impressed with the cordless LawnMaster mower I recently tested, and the electric version of this mower certainly did not let me down. The LawnMaster 1800w 40cm electric lawn mower is a practical, affordable and user-friendly garden tool that would suit the average homeowner down to the ground. But don’t let it fool you into thinking it’s a simple tool, because it has a lot of features you would expect to see on a more expensive, advanced model.
