The Flymo EasiMow 340R runs on a 1400 watt motor. This is a nice amount of power for an electric mower of this size, so you can feel confident that it’ll get the job done efficiently.
What really stood out for me was the long power cable. A lot of people are put off the idea of buying a corded mower because they worry that it’ll limit their reach. Short of using an extension cable, a lot of mowers won’t get to every corner of your garden. However, since the Flymo EasiMow 340R is fitted with a standard 10 metre power cable you’ll be able to reach more of your garden.

Performance
Modern homeowners don’t usually want to spend hours at a time looking after their garden. They want tools that will do the hard work for them and that are convenient. That’s exactly what you’ll get with the Flymo EasiMow 340R since it has a cut to edge feature that ensures you won’t need to worry too much about getting the trimmer out after mowing.
The 1400 w motor combined with the sharp cutting blade provides an excellent and effective cut, it never really seems to struggle with the task at hand.
What’s more, since this mower is fitted with a rear roller, this offers excellent stability during the mow especially when you’re moving over uneven edges. It’s beautifully easy to manoeuvre so there’s no need to exert yourself.
Deck and Blade
The Flymo EasiMow 340R features a plastic deck. This is great for lawn mowers like this as it makes them much more lightweight and therefore, easier to move around. However, do keep in mind that a plastic deck doesn’t have the durability of a steel one. But unless you’re planning on entering the lawn mower Olympics, it’s hardly likely that a bit of gentle back yard mowing is going to cause irreparable damage.
The underside of the deck is smooth and clear making it easy to wipe away the grass cuttings when you finish mowing. The grass combs on each side of the deck help to pull longer grass into the path of the blade, particularly when cutting against walls and fences.
There is no vertical storage with this model, unlike the Flymo EasiStore range of models.
Height Adjustment
You have a choice of five cutting heights with the Flymo EasiMow 340R and these range between 20mm and 60mm. The 20mm minimum is great for people who like to keep their grass very short, but the higher end of the scale could be a little more generous, in my opinion, as some mowers go up to 75mm allowing them to cut longer grass.
But it brings itself back with a super easy single lever adjustment feature (not on the smaller 300R), that makes switching between cutting heights quick and simple. As mentioned, although the smaller brother to this mower, the 300R, has the same range of cutting heights (20mm to 60mm), they are adjusted in 3 stages only (instead of 5) and the adjustment is manual via the front and rear axel (no convenient single lever).
Cutting Diameter
The Flymo EasiMow 340R is designed for small to medium sized gardens and as such has a 34cm cutting diameter. This works well for compact gardens, but if your is very much on the small side then you might opt for the younger brother; the Flymo 300R that has a smaller 30cm cutting deck and 30 litre collection box. However, the downside to this smaller model is that the height adjustment isn’t as simple as there’s no single lever. Moreover, this mower is slightly less powerful with a 1000 watt mower. That said, that’s more than enough for what you would use this machine for.
For bigger lawns, Flymo offers another model in this range; the 380R which, as the name suggests has a larger 38cm cutting deck as well as a larger 45 litre grass collection box. This is better suited to medium lawns and has the power to tackle this thanks to its 1600 watt motor.

Handles
There’s quite a lot to get excited about when you think about the handle on the Flymo EasiMow 340R. First and foremost, it features dual lever controls so it can be operated with both the left and right hands independently.
What’s more, the handle easily folds down so that the mower is easier to store when not in use. However, I should point out that this isn’t a model that’s been designed with purely storage in mind and it may still be a little bulky. Grass Box Capacity
With the Flymo EasiMow 340R, you get a 35 litre grass box. That’s just about spot on for a mower of this size so no complaints there. This is a plastic grass box though so do keep in mind that it might be harder to store than a fabric one.
The grass box comes with a full indicator so there’s no need to keep stopping to check whether it needs emptying. Moreover, the large opening makes emptying your grass clippings incredibly easy and without any mess.
The 300R has a smaller 30 litre collection box and the larger 380R has a larger 45 litre grass collection box, should you prefer one of these other options.

Practicalities
I love that the Flymo EasiMow 340R is so lightweight. It weighs just 10.8kg so it’s great if you don’t want to lug a huge machine around the garden; you can thank the plastic deck for that! You’ll normally find that corded mowers are lighter since there is no battery or engine weighing them down, but this one is particularly lightweight.
It’s also great to note that there is a handy cable wrap so you won’t get in a twist when storing the mower. More importantly, you won’t have to spend ages untangling the wire when it comes to the next mow.
Roller (Stripes)
The Flymo EasiMow 340R, the 300R and 380R, are fitted with a rear roller. As I mentioned earlier, this makes it a much more stable piece of equipment, but that’s not the main function of this part. The rear roller allows you to create a striped lawn so if you want a more traditional looking garden, you can do this with ease. The rear roller also makes the mower more stable particularly when cutting close or over the edge of flower beds.
Just bear in mind that this mower is lightweight, so therefore the stripes will not be as defined and long lasting as those produced from heavier petrol or cordless mowers.
Mulching
The EasiMow range does not have a mulching blade, and neither does it have a mulching plug.

If you don’t want to mess around when cutting your lawn, then I would absolutely recommend giving the Flymo EasiMow 340R a try. Its convenience at its best, but doesn’t scrimp on features that allow you to create a neat and professional looking finish to your lawn.
For people who have not tried an electric lawn mower before and are perhaps moving over from petrol, they’re going to notice some serious differences. While it won’t have the same power as your old petrol model, it’s got enough features to impress and makes the switch much easier.
