The LawnMaster quiet garden shredder 2800w boasts a quiet brushless electric motor that runs very quietly. It’s got a decent amount of power for an electric model and will easily handle thicker branches up to 4.2 cm in diameter.
However, if you’re only looking to break down smaller branches then you might find the 2400w version more suitable as this one could be overkill for lighter tasks. The 2400w model can still cope with branches up to 4 cm and comes with a generously sized 50 litre collection box.
The T-Drive system runs a powerful cutting drum that effectively breaks garden waste down into small pieces. These can then be used as mulch or a soil cover to prevent weed growth which is great if you’re looking for ways to garden in a more eco-friendly manner.

Shredding Capacity
The LawnMaster quiet garden shredder 2800w features a durable cutting drum that is designed to break down woody branches up to 42 mm in diameter. For most domestic garden tasks, this is more than enough and makes it ideal for those hedge cuttings, brambles and much more.
What I really liked was how smoothly the machine runs and jams are not usually an issue. However, in the event that a jam does occur, it’s simply a matter of running the machine in reverse so you won’t be left struggling to get started again.
Collection Bag
The LawnMaster quiet garden shredder 2800w comes with a 60 litre collection box made from plastic. This makes it lightweight and easy to remove when it’s time to empty your chippings.
The collection box holds a really good amount of shreddings so you won’t need to keep stopping to empty it. You’ll see in my video just how much it can take before it’s filled to capacity. Once you’re ready to empty, you can either dispose of the chippings in your garden waste or put them to good use as mulch.
Practicalities
The LawnMaster quiet garden shredder 2800w weighs in at around 22 kg so it’s not the lightest tool in the world. That said, with equipment such as this, that’s to be expected. However, it is fitted with two rear wheels which allow you to move it around the garden as necessary. As you can see in my video, it’s very easy to manoeuvre. That said, if you wanted something super light then the LawnMaster 2400w compact garden shredder weighs just 12 kg!
The only real downside for me was that the power cable isn’t very long at just 3 metres. When I tested the Hyundai 2800w electric shredder, it had a 10 metre power cord which added to its manoeuvrability. It’s certainly not something that would put me off the LawnMaster quiet garden shredder 2800w but you’ll probably need to use an extension cable in large gardens.
One of the most exciting features of the LawnMaster quiet garden shredder 2800w is how quietly it runs. It operates at 45 rpm, which is slightly slower than the Hyundai but still has a good amount of power without creating a disturbance for your neighbours.
I was also impressed with how robust this tool was. Being made from steel, it’ll stand up to the challenge of being moved around the garden and being put to work without the risk of any components breaking.
Storing the LawnMaster quiet garden shredder 2800w is so simple because of its compact design and removable parts. If you’re limited on space in the shed or garage then this is an essential feature. The hopper and collection box can be removed and stored inside one another which is a real space saver. This just leaves the main body of the machine which is beautifully compact.

One of the most important things to consider when purchasing an electric shredder is safety. There’s a lot of room for accidents when using a tool like this so you need to be properly prepared. Short of carefully following LawnMaster’s instructions on using the shredder, there are some additional safety features that I thought were very impressive.
For starters, the LawnMaster quiet garden shredder 2800w comes with a plunger stick which allows you to feed in garden debris without putting your fingers in harm’s way. What’s more, the tool comes with safety goggles so any flying debris won’t risk an eye injury.
Moreover, the LawnMaster quiet garden shredder 2800w features interlocking switches. This means that, without the hopper cover and collection box in place, the machine will not run. This limits the risk of the tool being accidentally started and drastically reduces the risk of injury.

If you’re looking for a shredder that’s going to handle thicker branches and a lot of them then the LawnMaster quiet garden shredder 2800w is an ideal choice. It’ll cut up to 42 mm woody branches without jamming so you can get the job done in quick time.
I also think this is a wise choice for anyone that requires a shredder but doesn’t want a bulky tool that’s difficult to store. If your garden shed is already fit to bursting, the LawnMaster quiet garden shredder 2800w will slot nicely into place, especially considering that the hopper and collection box can be removed and stored separately.
Conclusion
You might have been fooled into thinking that electric shredders just won’t cut it in the garden but the LawnMaster quiet garden shredder 2800w disproves that theory perfectly.
