I’ve been looking at various LawnMaster tools recently including the CLMF2434G lawn mower which actually is capable of battery sharing with this hedge trimmer. But more on that later.

Performance
When I look at tools like this, I expect them to do a stand up job and that’s exactly what I found with the LawnMaster 24v cordless hedge trimmer. For starters, it’s a really simple way to trim your hedges and prune your garden as quickly as possible. You can see from my video review below just how well this trimmer did on effectively cutting the various types of hedge and bushes in my garden.
Running on a 24v motor, this cordless hedge trimmer is powerful enough for most everyday gardening tasks. OK, it isn’t going to be able to hack its way through incredibly dense foliage with super thick branches, but it’s a hedge trimmer, not a chainsaw!
The main feature of this hedge trimmer, that complimented the performance, was its lightweight design at just 2.6kg complete with the battery. It really is a cordless tool that you can just grab from the shed or garage and whiz around the garden trimming off any new and unwanted growth. I simply will now not touch my petrol trimmer unless I’m looking to cut back a thicker more demanding foliage. Remember you are getting up to 40 minutes of run-time, which is great for even larger gardens and jobs.

Features
The LawnMaster 24v cordless hedge trimmer is a relatively simple piece of equipment, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have an exciting number of features that make it perfect for almost any domestic gardener.
Battery & Charger
That said, it’s only fair that I point out that this is just a standard charger which takes around 180 minutes to fully boost the battery. If you want to get going a little more quickly, there is an option to buy a fast charger, that reduces the charge time down to very respectable 60 minutes.
There is another option to get your hands on that fast charger and that is to buy the lawn mower I mentioned earlier in this review. The LawnMaster CLMF2434G comes with a fast charger which is compatible with the battery that’s included with the LawnMaster 24v cordless hedge trimmer. Moreover, the batteries are interchangeable and can be used with both tools, so if you’re looking to get a full gardening kit, it might be worth considering. What’s more you get two 4.0Ah batteries with the lawn mower for even longer run-times. Alternatively, there is even a larger lawn mower from LawnMaster CLMF4841E, that is provided with four 4.0Ah batteries, yes you read that correctly – 4 batteries that can be power shared.
Whichever charger you opt for, the 2.0Ah battery will give you up to 40 minutes of continuous hedge trimming run-time, which is more than enough to tend to an average sized garden.
Blade
Like many battery powered hedge trimmers, the LawnMaster 24v cordless hedge trimmer is designed to work with branches that are up to 15mm in thickness. Anything more than this would need a more powerful tool, so it goes without saying that this is considered to be an everyday garden maintenance tool.
It works efficiently at what it is designed for thanks to a precision laser cut blade measuring 52cm. This allows you a decent reach which is perfect if you’re working on a slightly taller hedge or want to get a little further in. 52cm is a good length if you are looking to achieve a nice straight cut on your buxus or yew bush.
Moreover, with a blade gap spacing of 15mm, you’ve got the capacity to cut those slightly thicker branches with ease.
Safety
Not only does it come with a safety switch, but it’s a three step safety switch which is great news if you have kids and are worried about them accidentally messing with the tool. Of course, I’d always recommend taking the battery out when not in use to further add to the safety of the trimmer. There is also a solid plastic blade cover, which should be used when the trimmer is not in use, not only to protect the blade from damage but also to protect the user.
The guard on this LawnMaster cordless hedge trimmer is somewhat smaller compared to some other models I have tested, however, as already mentioned, this trimmer is designed for lighter garden maintenance, so would be unnecessary and would add to the overall weight.
Handle
There is nothing worse than using a tool that feels uncomfortable or puts unnecessary strain on you. But you won’t have that problem with the LawnMaster 24v cordless hedge trimmer since it is kitted out with an ergonomic handle that fits perfectly in the hand. Moreover, there is a soft grip covering the handle, so your hands won’t slip and it just feels great.
Warranty
While I am super confident in the quality of this trimmer and other LawwnMaster tools, it is nice to know that there is a lengthy 2 year domestic guarantee with it. This just gives you that little extra peace of mind that you’re covered should anything go wrong.
Value

Where this hedge trimmer really stands out, is the quality you are getting for the price you are paying. As I said above, I was so impressed with the build quality of the LawnMaster 24v cordless lawn mower, I was sure the cordless hedge trimmer would follow suit. for example the equivalent Ryobi cordless hedge trimmer will set you back at least £40-£50 more. I’ve seen some closer to £200, so when you consider that you get the battery and charger supplied with this tool, it’s obvious that it’s great value for money.

Who Should Buy This Model?
I’d also suggest the LawnMaster 24v cordless hedge trimmer for people who have a slightly larger garden owing to the simple fact that you’re not limited by a power cord. Additionally, while it might not have the running power of a petrol trimmer, it’s far more eco-friendly, so it’s a good choice if you want to do your bit for the planet.
However, I would not say that this is a good tool for people who have very extensive hedge trimming needs. If you’ve got a really thick or dense hedge, then you might need something more powerful and perhaps a cordless model generally would not be sufficient.
Conclusion
The LawnMaster 24v cordless hedge trimmer, like many other LawnMaster tools is an efficient and excellent value for money tool, that makes tending to your garden a breeze. There aren’t any over the top features, but the trimmer has everything you need to keep your garden hedges looking neat and tidy in as quick a time as possible and I hope that this was apparent from my video review above.
