Power System
Using the same motor as the larger bladed 280, the Flymo Hover Vac 250 will have the same torque and thus greater cutting power. A 1400-watt motor powers the blade and runs off the mains supply connected via a power cable supplied with the unit.
The larger Flymo Hover Vac 260 and 270 have the same sized 1400w motor.
Power Cable
The power cable is 10 metres in length and comes attached to the mower. The end of the cord has a pre-installed moulded plug for safety and breakage prevention. This is within the bounds of an acceptable length, considering the size of lawn it is intended for.

To adjust the height, spacers are used to push the blade closer to the motor or the floor. There are 4 cutting heights in total that range from 11mm to 31mm. Each spacer adds 5 mm in height.
Cutting Diameter
On this Flymo Hover Vac 250 the blade is a relatively short 25 centimetres resulting in a small 0.065 metre square cutting area per rotation. Which is why you would only want to use this mower on a smaller lawn or a lawn with narrow strips.

The size of the grass box has been reduced to 15 L in comparison to the Flymo Hover Vac 280, in the same way that the blade is smaller – 25cm.

Practicalities
Weighing 6.5 kilograms, anyone that can push this mower will have the strength to lift it up. The size is not reduced by a large margin despite having a much smaller blade. There is nowhere to store the cable on the mower, so most users will end up wrapping the cable around the handlebars.
