Before you make the leap and purchase your first robotic lawn mower, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Now these may not help you with the buying decision per say, but they will make sure you have the correct mind-set before purchasing.
All points below are equally important so it’s best to keep them at the back of your mind before buying a robotic lawn mower.
Point 1 – Robotic Mowers Are More Valuable Than Manual Mowers
As you could probably already tell, robotic mowers can cost quite a bit more than your standard push mower. But don’t let this put you off, it just means that the technology used in these mowers is that much better than anything else.
In fact they’re loads better. Unlike the comparison between robotic and regular vacuum cleaners (which produce the exact same result so there isn’t much of a difference), robotic mowers actually do a significantly better job than any other regular mower. Give these mowers a couple of months to work and I doubt you’ll even recognise your garden – they’re simply that good!
So for better piece of mind, treat purchasing a robotic mower like an investment – putting money into a particular cause in order to make a return. Which in this case is a beautifully cut, healthy and thicker lawn, less stress and more time to spend with family and friends.
I don’t know about you but for me saving a few hours every week to do what I want is most definitely worthwhile.
Just remember you’re investing money, not spending it!
This way you’ll feel better knowing your money has been put into a great cause – i.e. your garden and more importantly, yourself.
And that’s it really. You aren’t just investing in a robotic mower, you’re investing in yourself.
However that does depend a little on you and leads me nicely onto my second point…
Point 2 – Please Make Use of Your Time
In order to get the highest return on your investment, you should use your time wisely. The biggest selling point of robotic lawn mower is that you get all this extra time to do what you want instead of having to mow.
Obviously what you do with this extra time is based entirely on your opinion and won’t be the same for everyone. Whether it be catching up on work, taking time with your family, watching Game of Thrones or relaxing, please make sure it’s something that is more worthwhile than mowing.
I know I have joked around a few times in some of my reviews saying that you can put your feet up and watch TV while the robot’s away at work (which isn’t technically a lie). With all the extra free time, you can do whatever you want, just remember that your robotic mower was responsible for it.
Point 3 – You’ll Have to Do A Little Work First
If you were going to invest in some shares in a company, would you just go for the first one that you see? No of course not as you would just loose your money. Instead you would do your research, read books, news journals, website articles and the company’s financials before you would even consider investing in them.
And even afterwards you would still have to compare different companies and try to work out if they will produce a suitable return. Only then would you find the perfect company (or portfolio of companies) to invest in.
And finding your perfect robotic mower is no different (well kind of you don’t need to go into as much depth and there’s no maths involved). You will need to do some work, but it won’t be too much trouble, just some simple comparisons between the models, features, functions and some analysis of your requirements.
Once you’ve done this, I have no doubt you’ll find the perfect robotic mower (and if you’re a bit stuck, I’m always here to help so just let me know).
And this may not even be a robotic mower. You can conclude that a petrol, or electric mower or even a ride-on mower is the best option for you. It’s not my place to say that a robotic mower is the best solution for everyone, because there is no way of knowing that and simply it would not be true.
I don’t want to do that, I just want you to find the best mower for you and your garden.
If you would like to see my best robotic mowers, petrol mowers and cordless mowers that I have tested with full reviews including their pros and cons, features and who they are best suitable for click the links below.
As I’ve said many times, giving you maximum value for your money is my sole purpose. But this does require a little research, a bit of studying and just a tiny bit of serious thought.
Other than sharing with you all the information, unfortunately there is nothing else I can do. This decision is all yours and for sure you want to get it right.
Point 4 – Like With Every Product, A Little Patience Is Needed
For you to fully appreciate what robotic mowers have to offer, you need to give them time. They have been deliberately designed to operate in a slow and steady manner, only cutting tiny little (hard-to-see) clippings instead of long noticeable ones.
So don’t expect your garden to transform after the first mow, it just won’t happen. In fact you might not notice that much change at all. It will be obvious the lawn has been cut but in terms of its overall appearance, there won’t be that much difference.
But just be patient, it will look great in no time – and that’s a promise!
After 3 – 4 weeks have passed, you’ll be over the moon with the results. Your lawn will look fuller, greener and better than it ever did before! I promise you, when you give robotic mowers a chance they will be worth it and you will enjoy all their benefits. In fact I don’t think you’ll ever go back to a normal mower ever again.
That’s why I love robotic mowers. Not only do they give you so much more time to do what you want, they also have the power to improve the quality and health of your lawn!
So please remember that with robotic mowers you are investing your money over the longer term, that is when you will be able to see the return on your investment.
Ensure you do your homework and select the right robotic mower suitable for you and your garden. These tips will be the difference between you investing and spending your money, so please take them into consideration.
After that, all you will need to do is ensure that your newly found time is spent productively (or as much as you want it to be).
You can even spend your well earned time building a garage for your robotic mower.
