The P1PE P4100 comes fitted with a 79 cc 4 stroke engine. This harbours more than enough power for the small to medium sized lawns that this mower is designed for but there’s much more to the engine than just that.
For example, this engine is incredibly economical on fuel so if you were worried about upgrading to petrol and spending a small fortune on running it, think again. Not only does it boast low fuel consumption but low emissions and low vibrations as well.
The P1PE P4100 Hyundai Powered petrol lawn mower features a recoil start which can make some people want to run in the opposite direction but Hyundai has ensured that the mower is easy to start so you won’t do your back in repeatedly pulling at the cord.
Performance
With any tool from Hyundai, you can expect to get a clean and efficient cut and the P1PE P4100 is no exception. But not only does it deliver a beautiful finish to your lawn, this machine is also pretty smart.
When you’re working in longer grass, this lawn mower automatically ups the power to ensure that the engine continues running at 2800 rpm; it won’t lose efficiency.
However, I should point out that the P1PE P4100 petrol lawn mower does not come with a self propelled drive. This means that it probably won’t be suitable for very hilly lawns as you’ll just find it difficult to move around.
That said, there is a larger version of this model, the P5100SPE that boasts self propelled drive and a whole lot of other features which I’ll talk more about later on.
Deck and Blade
One of the major selling points for me about the P1PE P4100 lawn mower is how well it is made.
It benefits from a steel deck which has been through a phosphating treatment and powder coating so it’s super resistant to corrosion and rust. What’s more, steel is incredibly robust so you can really put this mower to work and not have to worry.
The deck also has the addition of a handy hose wash port to make cleaning the underside of the deck a breeze.

Cutting Diameter
The P1PE P4100 Hyundai Powered mower benefits from a 41 cm cutting width. This is ideal for small to medium gardens and the manufacturer recommends using it with anything up to 2000 square feet.
Of course, many of you reading this will have much larger lawns so again, I would recommend the P5100SPE that has an additional 10 cm of cutting width (51 cm) so it’ll cover a larger surface much more quickly.
Handles
Comfort is so important when you’re mowing the lawn and the manufacturer has not missed anything out. The handles feature a soft grip which makes mowing a sheer joy although I did notice that the angle or height of the handles cannot be adjusted.
What’s more, the handle is easy to fold and requires no tools to do so which means that it becomes even more compact than it already is for storage.
Height Adjustment
When you buy the P1PE P4100, you’ll get a choice of seven cutting heights which is pretty standard on this type of machine.
These cutting heights range between 25 mm and 75 mm which again is what I would have expected to see. The great thing about this is that there’s more than enough versatility to mow your lawn your way.
Changing between cutting heights is so easy thanks to the single lever. Just move it, lock it into position and get on with mowing.
Mowing Features
If you’re looking for an all singing all dancing mowing with mulching mode and rear and side discharge chutes then the P1PE P4100 mower probably isn’t for you. You’ll want to upgrade to the P5100SPE which benefits from all of the aforementioned mowing modes.
However, for anyone that wants a simple cut and collect lawn mower, the P1PE P4100 41cm petrol lawn mower is ideal.
It comes with a 40 litre grass catcher that’s made from polyester so it’s pretty durable. What’s more, being a fabric grass catcher, you get the benefit of improved air flow which ensures the clippings are compacted, allowing you to get more in. If that wasn’t enough, this design folds flat so it’s much easier to store.

Safety Features
If you were worried about the safety of a petrol lawn mower then your mind will be put at ease when you learn that the P1PE P4100 mower comes with an Operator Presence Control.
What this essentially means is that, if you let go of the handle, the engine stops and will not restart without you activating the handle. That’s great news if you were worried about the kids starting the mower accidentally.
Practicalities
The P1PE P4100 weighs 21.5 kg. Now, that might sound like a lot but it’s actually one of the lighter petrol mowers on the market.
That said, I have to again point out the lack of a self propelled drive so this weight may be too much on slopes or if you don’t have the correct amount of physical strength.
But despite the weight, this mower is an incredibly compact little machine so it’s ideal if you don’t have a lot of space in the shed or garage. Plus, as I’ve already mentioned, the handles and grass box can be folded, making it even more compact.
With this Hyundai Powered 41 cm petrol lawn mower, you get a two year warranty. This is what I would have expected but I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that you have very easy access to spare parts in the UK. Since petrol mowers do require more maintenance, being able to get what you need is imperative.
I mentioned earlier that the engine produces low emissions and vibrations but another great aspect of this mower is how quiet it is. Yes, it’s a petrol mower so it’s going to be noisy but the manufacturer has taken all of the right steps to make it as least disruptive to your ears as possible.
Just one last practicality of this mower, is the fact that it includes a deck hose wash port for quick and easy cleaning.

It comes in at less than £200 but still delivers an excellent performance. If you’re happy to have a simple mower without all the frills, then I think this could be the right model for you.
As I discussed earlier, I don’t think that this lawn mower is ideal for hilly lawns as it doesn’t have a self propelled drive. However, if you have a flat and even lawn, this might be worth considering.

It’s not a showy lawn mower nor does it have a fancy array of cutting modes or functions.
